WEST Weekly

Dear WEST swim fans,

Wow, what a week it has been. We started with outstanding performances at the February Challenge, we received many compliments from other coaches on deck about how impressive our younger squads were looking. I am impressed with how much improvement we have had in such a short period of time.

The pool pump was repaired yesterday and the pool is back to normal operations. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we appologize for any inconvenience.

New Board Members

We would like to thank all our parent volunteers, especially those that have helped serve on past boards. Last week we had our annual general board elections and we would like to thank Michelle Nims, Phil Carpenter and Mary Forsberg for their support and hard work  serving on the WEST board for the past two years. We would like to welcome our new and returning board members: Eddie Lucien (President), Richard Brunke (VP), Julia Francis (Treasurer) and Diane Brown.

Fundraising / Swim-A-Thon Committee Meeting - 6pm in Parent Veiwing Area

There will be a Swimathon meeting next Tuesday 2/12 where we will assign job responsibilities will be assigned and everyone wanting to participate should plan to attend. If for any reason they will not be there they can email Robin at [email protected] and she will make sure their name gets on the job sign-up. Although working on the Fundraising/SAT committees does not go towards their volunteer hours but is a part of the fundraising requirement and helps to keep making WEST better and better.

Dont Forget to Sign Up to Volunteer at the AG Invite!

Thanks to everyone who has signed up to help at the February Invite meet.  We still have some open spots.  Here is the link to sign up www.westswimteam.com\events  We are also preparing the heat sheet so consider an advertisement to sponsor our swimmers.  Local businesses might benefit from exposure in our heat sheet.  A full page advertisement costs $100 and will generally be seen by close to 500 people.  Questions? Gold Standards, Championship Qualifying Times

As parents it is important to know what meets your child qualifies for. Their times can be found using USA Swimming's online times database found here: Go to USASWIMMING.org and scroll over Times, then click Times Search (follow direct link here: http://usaswimming.org/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabId=1464&Alias=Rainbow&Lang=en).
