West Weekly

Nick Chevalier
Tis the Season! Schools and Group Swim Lessons are on break and the pool is on a modified schedule (see below for details). I hope everyone is able to spend some quality time with loved ones over the next couple weeks. With the year almost to an end, start thinking about New Year resolutions and live the rest of 2023 to the fullest!

Club Team Championships
This past weekend concluded the winter championship meets. WEST swimmers finished in 11th place at the Washington State Senior Championships and finished 10th at the 14&U PNS Age Group Championships. We had numerous team records broken and many new qualifying swims - GREAT JOB EVERYONE!

WEST Official Honored by Pacific Northwest Swimming
Congratulations to Aline Bensen for being awarded the Dick LaFave Official of the Year by PNS swimming. Aline has been volunteering to help run swim meets and train other officials for many years and the award is very well deserved. We look forward to seeing her plaque in the PNS Hall of Fame and appreciate all she continues to do for our sport!

Pool Area Air Temperature
We recently had a mechanical issue with the heater portion of our HVAC system and it is not currently functioning. The pool heaters are working strong and the water will feel warmer than the air making it easy to dive in! Parts are on order and we will have it repaired as quickly as possible.

Illness Season
It's that time of the year, with the colder weather and people moving more indoors, we are seeing an uptick in sickness and colds. Do what you can to stay healthy: increase your hydration, get enough sleep and wash your hands! When you do inevitably get sick, please respect those around you by either staying home, wearing a mask or maintaining social distance.
