Golda Marcus

Head Coach

Coach Golda is a two-time Olympian for El Salvador, competing in the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Games, and still holds national records in the 400m and 1500m freestyle. A 21-time international medalist, she swam Division I at Florida State University, earning a BA in English and an MFA.

With 17 years of coaching experience in California—12 at De Anza Cupertino Aquatics and 5 at Burlingame Aquatic Club—Golda is dedicated to developing swimmers both in and out of the pool. An active Masters and open water marathon swimmer, she brings her passion, expertise, and energy to PSL as Head Coach.

Rui Ewald

Associate Coach

Coach Rui is a lifelong swimmer and accomplished water polo player, earning All-America recognition in the 100-yard butterfly for two consecutive years while captaining both the varsity swim and water polo teams at Seattle University. A two-time Washington state open water champion, Rui has combined competitive success with a passion for teaching the sport.

He has coached age group swimmers at both Los Altos Mountain View Aquatics Club and Swim Seattle, guiding 8–11 year-olds in technique development across all four strokes and preparing them for peak performance at targeted meets. Rui’s coaching emphasizes skill progression, race strategy, and fostering a love of the water, with many of his athletes advancing to higher levels of competition.

Samantha Camarra

Associate Coach

Coach Sam is a passionate and experienced swim coach and former Division I athlete. She served as Associate Head Coach for the UCSC Men’s and Women’s teams, helping lead the men to their first-ever PCSC Championship title in 2020. As an athlete, Samantha competed for the University of Hawaii’s nationally ranked Wahine Water Polo team (2007–2010) and swam for UH from 2007–2009.

Her coaching experience spans from infants to college athletes, including teens, beginner adults, and competitive club swimmers. Comfortable in all aspects of team operations—from scheduling and meet coordination to parent communication—Samantha is dedicated to fostering both performance and personal growth. She is excited to bring her expertise and enthusiasm to PSL.
