Join the Fun: LTS, Mini-Prep & Mini Team Swim Meet Opportunities!
Dear MAC Families,
This is Coach Moon with an update on our Mini-Prep and Mini Team swimmers. As we dive into the new season, we’ve been focusing on freestyle and backstroke to build a solid foundation of endurance. Last week, we introduced breaststroke. While some swimmers pick up the breaststroke kick easily, many find it challenging. Please ensure your child attends every session so they can continue improving.
We also have exciting swim meet opportunities for the Mini Team this season! Even if your swimmer is new and hasn’t mastered turns or diving just yet, they are still welcome to participate. For first-year Mini Team members, swim meets are a great learning experience and a chance to build confidence.
Our next swim meet will be on December 21st for 10 & Under swimmers. Please sign up for this event and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
Additionally, even our youngest swimmers (8 & Under) participating in LTS classes are welcome to join the meet! Please consult with your child’s coach if interested.
Here are the upcoming meet details:
1. Splash & Dash Mini Team Meet (Dec 21)
- 10 & Under swimmers can participate
2. Mako Polar Plunge Meet (Jan 11-12)
- Open to all age groups
3. Fox Forty Niner Meet (Feb 22-23)
- Open to all age groups
Pre-Meet Preparation:
All swimmers must be registered for either a Flex or Premium USA Swimming membership before participating in meets.
- Flex Membership: Allows for 2 meet participations ($30)
- Premium Membership: Unlimited meet participation ($100)
Mini-Prep and Mini Team swimmers already have their USA Swimming membership fee covered in the club membership. However, LTS swimmers will need to pay the membership fee.

2024-25 Championship Gold Swim Cap Giveaway!
We are excited to announce that swimmers who qualify for the following championship events will receive a special Championship Gold Swim Cap:
- December NCAP Invitational Champ
- January IMX
- March Junior Champs
1. Extra Practice Updates: Fri, 11/1, 10am@DSR canceled, New session at 5:20am@MP
The Extra Practice session scheduled for November 1st at 10:00 AM for swimmers registered for 5+ sessions has been canceled and replaced with a 5:20 AM session at MP.
Additionally, the class on Thu, 11/28 has been canceled due to low participation.
2. DSR Class Canceled Due to Swim Meet: Alternative Makeup Classes Available
The following practice sessions will be canceled due to facility closures for swim meets at Dulles Rec Center.
The TEAM Makeup class schedule is as follows. Since spots are limited, please contact Coach Moon via email or text as soon as possible to secure a spot. If these dates do not work for you, we will assist in scheduling a makeup session on another date. The LTS makeup class schedule will be announced later.

Note: Swimmers participating in the Nov Open Meet on November 15-17 do not need to attend makeup classes, as the meet participation will count as practice.
High School Maintenance Practice Extended
The High School Maintenance Practice, originally scheduled to run until November 3rd, will be extended for one more week until November 10th to accommodate the High School Swim Team Tryouts. There will be no additional cost. For swimmers in the Manassas morning session, which ends on November 1st, you may join the afternoon session for the last week. Please contact Coach Moon to confirm your schedule.
