Owen Brown Barracudas

Go You Mighty 'Cudas!

Team Swimsuit - 2025

NEW TEAM SWIMWEAR THIS YEAR!

This year, Owen Brown has decided to go with the TYR Technowave, Diamond Fit for girls, and jammer for boys. Pictures of the suits are below.

Cy’s will be coming to Dasher Green for fittings and sales on June 4th during our practice block from 5-7pm, but you do not have to wait until this date.   You can also purchase the suit directly from their website, or you can visit their brick and mortar store in Catonsville, where are also happy to do a fitting.  (They also rent tuxedos if you need one for prom!)

The cost of the girl's suit is $60 plus tax, and the boy's is $45 plus tax.

Please note that purchase of the team suit is not required.  We only ask that whatever suit you get should meet league requirements (below,) and if at all possible, that you get one in team colors so that you match during the team photo and at dual meets when it makes it easier to tell what team you're on.

CNSL'S SUIT RULES:    UPDATED 6/4/2024

The swimsuit rules were updated in 2024, and no longer need to follow the guidelines from USA Swimming.  The only rules are:

1.  Nothing bouyant (such as suits with floaties built in)

2.  Nothing made of neoprene or similar materials designed to be compressive (think foamy/scuba-suit type materials)

3.  Nothing unsafe (we shouldn't have to tell you not to swim in a hoodie and sweatpants!)

There are no restrictions against rashguards, the length of the suit or the length of its sleeves (as long as it's not neoprene), bikinis, frills, or strings that tie in the back.

With that said, we still encourage the team suit (or something similar).  Our traditional uniform is a basic one-piece for girls and a jammer for boys.  However, please feel free to wear whatever meets your needs and budget.

An important note about those who may need and Individual Swimmer Plan:   Even with these new loosened rules, if you have made your choice of suit based on medical, modesty, or religious reasons, we encourage you to complete an ISP to avoid any confusion.   (For example, even though rash guards are now permitted, your coach might theoretically mention to your swimmer that they could improve their swim-time without one -- but they would not do this if they knew you were wearing it due to an ISP, thus preventing an awkward conversation.)

Compression tape on the body is still only permitted with a doctor's or physical therapist's note submitted with the Individual Swimmer Plan.  When in doubt, it's always better to file an ISP than risk being potentially disqualified on a technicality.  Talk to your manager and/or coach.   We'll help you!

CNSL creates Individual Swimmer Plans to accomodate a variety of physical and cognative disabilities.  If you have quesitons, please talk to your manager, or view the ISP form, which contains contact information for CNSL.

All ISPs must be submitted to CNSL at least 72 hours prior to a meet.
