Aqua Jets - Little Squirts Team
The  Ashburn Village Aqua Jets Little Squirts Team  is open to Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion members and Non-members from 5-8 years of age who can swim the following requirements.
 
5-8 year olds 
15 meter freestyle with front breath
15 meter back kick
Be able to swim on front and roll over to back
25 kick with a board 

Aqua Jets - Regular Team

The Ashburn Village Aqua Jets is open to Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion members and Non-members from 5-18 years of age who can swim the following requirements.

5-8 year olds 
25 meter freestyle with side breathing 
25 meter backstroke 
50 meter choice kick with a board 
 
9-10 year olds 
50 meter freestyle with side breathing 
50 meter backstroke 
75 meter choice kick with a board 
 
11-12 year olds 
75 meter freestyle with side breathing 
75 meter backstroke 
50 meter breastroke (preferred)
50 meter butterfly (preferred)
100 meter choice kick with a board 
 
13 and over 
100 meter freestyle with side breathing 
100 meter backstroke 
50 meter breastroke 
50 meter butterfly 
100 meter choice kick with a board
 
*For assessments swimmers will be in the water on their own, a coach will walk along the deck performing the assessment. This is to ensure swimmers are comfortable in the water on their own as throughout the season there will be practices where coaches will not be in the water.

 

Our well-credentialed coaching staff will teach and develop proper stroke technique in freestyle, backstroke, starts, turns, finishes, as well as educate on the effective use of swimming equipment. Butterfly and breaststroke will be introduced based upon swimmer’s abilities.

Practices are divided by age. Please refer to our practice schedule page for specific information. All practices are structured to provide a fun yet instructional workout for the beginning swimmer and a more challenging program focused on speed, endurance, and racing techniques for the more advanced swimmers. While this is a developmental program, Aqua Jets should not be considered a substitute for swim lessons. Lifeguards will be on duty and safety will be stressed at all times.

The Ashburn Village Aqua Jets compete against neighboring community swim teams throughout the Colonial Swim League. All swimmers have the opportunity to participate in several races within their age group on Wednesday evenings while the team’s top swimmers compete for league standings on Saturday mornings.
