2025 Bridlewood Torpedoes Junior Coach Info Packet
Junior coaches are volunteers who will report directly to the head coach and support coaching staff during practices and meets.
14 junior coaches will be selected each year with precedence given to previous junior coaches, but past attendance, conduct, and job fulfillment will also be considered. New junior coaches will be added in consideration of criteria such as age, years of swimming experience, previous years with the Bridlewood Torpedoes, acknowledgement of attendance commitment and conduct (assuming the applicant is already a Torpedo).
To apply to be a junior coach for the upcoming swim season, swimmers must fill out the Junior Coach application form (these will sent out after registration). Applications will be reviewed by the head coach and a finalized junior coach roster will be sent out by May 1st, 2025 previous to the start of the swim season.

Assisting in-water during 6u and 7/8 practices.

Other tasks to assist practice as directed by head/assistant coaches.

Following directives of the head coach during meets.

Assembling and running 6u and 7/8 relay groups to their correct lanes during meets.

Assist in leading 6u and 7/8 swimmers back to their corrals after meet events.

Assist in leading 6u and 7/8 swimmers to the ready bench before meet events.

Assist with set-up and take-down of swim meets.

Maintaining a positive attitude towards coaches and being teachable.

Maintaining a positive attitude towards all swimmers, regardless of ability level.
Requirements and Compensation:

Junior coaches must be registered swimmers on the Torpedoes Swim Team.

Junior coaches must have at least one season of swim team experience.

Junior coaches must be at least 11 years of age.

Junior coaches may receive volunteer hours.

Junior coaches are eligible for:

A full refund of their registration fee if they attend a minimum of 60% of practices and 3 out of the 5 meets.

A partial refund of 50% of their registration fee if they attend a minimum of 25% of practices and at least 2 out of the 5 meets.

Junior coaches who do not meet these requirements will not be eligible for a refund and their appointment as a junior coach may be reconsidered for the next swim season.
