*Head Coach, Matt Murdock, will send a reminder email letting you know when it is time to "declare" or commit you swimmer for racing in the upcoming meet. Your child CANNOT race in the meet if you do not go on and declare/register your child for EACH meet by the date set forth in the email.

Please do this for EVERY swim meet so Coach Matt may know which swimmers will be in attendance and can plan for relay swims etc. If you will not attend, please also decline your attendance online so we know who will be swimming.

Click here  for instructions on how to register/"commit" your swimmer to attend or decline racing in each swim meet (Event).

*Remember, your child does not have to be "excellent" in his/her stroke technique, only "proficient", in order to race. While this is a competitive swim team for SNT (Swim North Texas), it is still a community-style swim team. We want children to try new things, have fun, and challenge themselves. Coming to practice every day and working hard to properly learn the strokes from their coaches will eventually give them the skills they need to succeed. As parents, it is your chance to encourage, support, and cheer on your children as they do something challenging and rewarding. If your child is NOT relatively comfortable in a given stroke, please do not force it; encourage him/her to keep practicing during the weekday practices and try again for the next meet. If in doubt, start with the freestyle race. Please reach out to Coach Matt if you have further questions: [email protected]

If volunteering at a meet:

**If you are volunteering at the meet, please check in at the Volunteer Check-In Desk upon arrival.

*"First half" jobs USUALLY run from 7/8am (or before the meet starts) to the middle of the meet (or at the BEGINNING of the backstroke races, often around 10:30/11am +/-). "Second half" jobs swap out the first half volunteers at the beginning of backstroke races and finish until the end of the meet (often around 2:00 +/- an hr.).  BOTH shift times vary and there is no "set time" guaranteed, as it all depends on the number of swimmers, actual start time of the meet, how fast the events are progressing etc. etcThese time estimates are simply to give you an estimate for planning. As second shift parent/volunteers, you are required to follow along with the heat sheets to know when backstroke races will be starting and check in at the volunteer check in table before that time so you will have time to swap out the first shift volunteer in the position before you. Prior to the meet, Heat/Event sheets will be emailed out to the account email on file by Head Coach Matt Murdock. You may print these out to follow along or follow along on the digital file attached to your email.
