Austin started with the Blue Ridge Swim League as a swimmer many years ago.  He has lifeguarded, taught swim lessons and coached for Reeves for years and has previously served as the assistant coach for the Mount Airy Middle School and North Surry High School.  He has been the Reeves site coach for Star Aquatics since 2015 and is the Aquatics Director for Reeves Community Center. 

Emily grew up swimming with the Blue Ridge Swim League.  She is a former swimmer of Reeves Rapids and STAR Aquatics.  She currently is the Head Lifeguard at Reeves Community Center and the Assistant Site Coach for STAR Aquatics.

Jay has been with the Rapids as a volunteer or coach since 2008, when his daughter first joined the team.  He also coaches the Mount Airy High School swim team. 

Matheson began swim lessons at Reeves Community Center and had joined the Reeves Rapids at 4 years old.  He began swimming STAR Aquatics the next year.  He has been a member of both the Middle and High School teams for Mount Airy.  He is a life guard at Reeves and was the 2021-2022  NC State 1A Champion in 100 Backstroke.  Matheson will be working with our intermediate swimmers.
