FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does my athlete need a sports physical, and do they need one every year?
Physicals are good for 3 years from the date of the exam, and must be valid for the entire season the athlete will be participating in. A valid physical must be in our system in order to open the online registration form. Only page one of the MSHSL Sports Qualifying Physical Exam Form is needed for participation. New physicals require 24 hours to process. If your child's physical is going to expire during the season, the system will not let you register.
Physicals can be submitted via e-mail ([email protected]), fax, US Mail, or by dropping off at the Irondale Activities Office (see the MSHSL Physical Exam for more details). To check the date of a student’s last physical, log in to your ParentVUE account and select the Student Info tab. The current physical date is located at the bottom of the page (currently not available though the mobile app). Copies of the 2024-25 MSHSL Physical Exam Form are available online, and in the Activities Office.
Do I need to try out for the team?
Irondale's Swim Team is not try-out based, anyone can join.
Is there a way to try on suits for athletes before we purchase?
Yes, for the girls team, at the June BBQ, the Boosters provide "fit kit" suits in various sizes for you to try on before purchasing, ensuring your athlete has a properly fitting suit to wear at meets.
For the boys team, the coach will select a date before or after practice for swimmers to try on various size suits.
Where is a good place to purchase quality practice suits?
- Elsmore Swim Shop has locations in Apple Valley and Minnetonka. It may be a little bit of a drive, but well worth it for a great selection of quality suits and equipment!
- SwimOutlet.com has great deals, lots of variety, and easy online returns.
