B Meets!

The Frogs are looking forward to a great year, and we have a lot of amazing swimmers that we cannot wait to see on Wednesday nights!

Wednesday B meets have many more swimmers than the Saturday A meets so they require a lot more time and a lot more volunteers. We want to make sure that everyone who is eligible to swim can do so. Here is a little info about signing up for B meets.

Everyone needs to sign up in Sport Engine Motion by 9pm Sunday night.

The final line up for each B meet has to be submitted into our electronic system at that time, therefore if we do not have your swimmer registered by 9pm Sunday night, we cannot enter them into the meet line up for that week.  So please set an alarm or do what you need to do to remember to log in and sign up by Sunday at 9pm!

Please read all information below.

For what B meet events can my swimmer register?

  • A swimming week runs Saturday – Friday. They are eligible to swim a total of 3 events (free, back, breast, or fly) plus IM (if 9yrs and over) in total between Saturday and Wednesday, or in a “swimming week”.  For example, if your child swam free and back on Saturday in the A meet, then at the B meet on Wednesday, they may only swim one more stroke (either breast or fly), and if they are 9 years old, they may also swim IM.

  • If your child DID NOT swim at all on Saturday in the A meet, then they can sign up to swim on Wednesday for a maximum of 3 events (free, back, breast, or fly), and if they are 9 years old (as of June 1, 2024) they can also sign up for the 100M Individual Medley (“IM”).

  • Swimmer eligibility is based on ability to swim the stroke properly and timely, and entry into an event is at the discretion of our coaches. If you have any questions regarding your swimmer’s ability to participate in any event, please talk to the coaches, and they will let you know if your swimmer is ready. Coaches may remove a swimmer from an event if they are not legal in that stroke. For example, many 8 and unders in the breast and fly events are not yet “legal” so they do not swim those events.

Qualifying times for a swimmer to successfully complete each event have been made in attempt to maximize successes, minimize disappointments, and improve the flow of Wednesday night B meets. They are:

                              Free            Back         Breast              Fly

8 & Under             1:00 min    1:00 min   1:00 min           1:00 min

9 – 10 yrs              1:00 min     40 sec       50 sec              50 sec

Any swimmer age 9 and over who wishes to compete in the IM must be able to legally swim all four laps within 2:00 minutes.
