Crimson boys compete at True Team State swimming event

The Maple Grove High School Boys Swim and Dive team placed 10th of 12 teams at the Jan. 21 True Team State event. Other teams there, included in order of finishing include Minnetonka, Wayzata, Prior Lake, Edina, Chanhassen-Chaska, East Ridge, Eagan, Lakeville South, Brainerd, Duluth East and Stillwater.

Maple Grove earned 1249.5 points, just two and a half points behind Brainerd and five and half points behind eighth place Lakeville South.

Senior and Captain Logan Cyr placed fourth overall in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1.44.71. He also placed fifth overall in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:49:60.

Senior and Captain Gerrit Riekels placed fourth overall in the 200 yard IM with a time of 1:57:93.

 

Maple Grove heads to Centennial High School on Thursday, Jan. 26, for the team’s final dual meet of the season.

The seventh, eighth and ninth graders on the team will take part in the Centennial Juniors Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 28, also in Circle Pines.

The conference tournament takes place at the beginning of February, with sections following at the end of February. The season comes to an end at the State Meet at the beginning of March.
