Basic Information

The Holly Park Sharks swim team competes in the Mountain Hi Swim League (MHSL) supported by South Suburban Parks and Recreation District. The league has 24 teams divided into four divisions (A, B, C, and D) according to team size and performance. In 2025, the Sharks are competing in Division B. See Pools for the locations of our competition!

The swim team is open to any swimmer ages 5-18 who can swim one length of the pool, 25 meters, unassisted. This is a league requirement and will not be relaxed.
 
The age of a swimmer on June 1 determines the age group in which that swimmer will participate. The age groups for competition are 6U, 8U, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and 15-18. The age group also determines the swimmer's practice time.
 

Our Mission

The Holly Park Sharks are committed to developing the technical skills of competitive swimming, strengthening friendships and encouraging our swimmers to strive for their personal best. With this in mind, we urge our swimmers, coaches and parents to commit themselves to practice and meets, and to set high goals, as well as to conduct themselves with courtesy, goodwill and sportsmanship.

Registration:

To be a member of the Holly Park Sharks team, swimmers must be registered with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District and pay an annual fee. In 2025, the fee for District residents is $195 per swimmer and $250 for Non-District. From this fee, the league collects a $11, non-refundable, secondary insurance fee from the team for every swimmer, in addition, $5 league dues per swimmer, regardless of a swimmer’s primary insurance coverage; and an insurance waiver.  

The insurance/dues fee is included in the South Suburban registration fee. The waiver must be signed online before the swimmer is allowed to enter the water.

There is also a required team booster fee ($25 per swimmer) and a Volunteer "fee" ($300 per Family).  The volunteer fee is charged at the end of the season ONLY if the 4-shift volunteer requirement is not met. 1)   Complete Registration with SSPRD 

District Price:  $195; Non-district Price $250 – payable to SSPRD

2) Complete Registration with Holly Park Sharks – Create an account for yourself and add your swimmers. Pay the $25 booster fee per swimmer and sign all waivers and releases.
