Week of June 6th, 2022
Hello Sharks! Our first practice meet of the season was awesome! All our swimmers seemed to have a good time:) I hope it was especially helpful for all the young swimmers and new families to get an idea on how a swim meet works and what to partially expect.
SWIM MEET – Saturday, June 11th @ Castle Pines
Our next Swim meet is at Castle Pines with the Crocs. Their letter is linked here . If you do need to leave the meet early, please let a coach know so they aren’t looking for you in heating. Coaches sometimes also need to replace swimmers who scratch events so it is helpful to know who is still at the meet to help in these instances as well.
VOLUNTEER SHIFT SIGN UPS -
There are still volunteer shifts open for Saturday’s meet. Please be sure to sign up if you can help.
Volunteer Shift Sign Ups have opened for the rest of the meets as well. Visit the Holly Park Shark TeamUnify website to sign up.

POOL AND PRACTICE -
South Suburban is still anticipating the pool opening on Monday, June 13th, but we will continue to keep you posted as we know more. If this occurs, practices will be as follows, but please check your email for updates:
Morning practices 7:00am for ages 11 and up, 8:00am for ages 10 and under
Evening practices M/W – 5:00pm All ages, T/Th – 5:00pm 13 and older (no Friday evening practices)
BOOSTER & VOLUNTEER CHECKS -
If any parents still need to pay their booster fees, please hand them in as soon as possible! Again, you may bring checks to the pool and give to any board member or venmo. You will likely be receiving an email if we have you down as unpaid Please reach out with any questions to Patty Kreinbrink or Shannon Parish, Co-Parent Delegates or Julie Brungardt, our Treasurer ([email protected] or [email protected]).
FUNDRAISER:
Our Annual Swim-a-Thon is around the corner, but due to the delayed pool opening, we are still confirming the day and securing food for the event. The tentative date is Wednesday June 22nd in lieu of evening practice and food will be provided for the swimmers and volunteers. The Swim-A-Thon is a standing tradition for our team and over the last nine years, we have donated a percentage of our proceeds to a different charity. Swimmers collect flat rate or per lap donations ahead of time and then swim as many laps as they can. This year we will have this event in lieu of an eventing practice. I have linked the Fundraiser Document here if you would like to start collecting your donations early. We will be raising money for Reach out and Read Colorado.
MOUNTAIN HIGH SWIM LEAGUE (MHSL) OPEN POSITION:
MHSL has an immediate opening for the WebMaster Position and if you take on this role, you will earn a much needed point for the team. These points are critical for us to stay in this league. Please reach out to Patty or Shannon if you are interested ASAP and we can submit your name to the league. Some of the roles include attending MHSL meetings, maintaining the website, submitting the URL to search engines/lists, managing domain registration, updating email addresses and board contact information etc.
