Holly Park Sharks Newsletter
Week of June 27th, 2022
Hello Sharks!
We had a frigid meet last Saturday, but after a little rain, it cleared off enough and almost got warm! We seem to have a meet like this every year and so at least it’s out of the way now. Our first home meet was a success thanks to all of you who stepped up to help so thank you!
IMPORTANT UPDATES AND INFORMATION:
PRACTICE:
NO PRACTICE MONDAY JULY 4TH. Enjoy the time with your families and friends and Happy July 4th!
Regular practices continue this week and next with that exception.
NO SWIM MEET THIS SATURDAY due to the Holiday ahead.
NEXT AND LAST REGULAR SEASON MEET:
Saturday July 9th at Foxridge with the Foxes. This is a super fun meet, for many of us, our favorite! Make sure to save this date and attend. They have the best concessions with fresh pancakes in the morning! Here is their welcome letter with everything you need to know for the meet! Foxridge Foxes Welcome Letter
RIBBONS:
Look for your ribbons and speeding tickets in the boxes/file folders under the awning on the tables this week! Make sure you dig deep into those pockets to make sure you get all of your ribbons/speeding tickets etc. If you got a wrong ribbon or didn’t get your ribbons and placed 1st-6th, please email our awards chair, Erika Drake at: [email protected]
FUNDRAISER:
Our Swim-a-Thon was a success! Thank you to all the swimmers who swam their hearts out and all of the parent volunteers! This is our main fundraiser of the year and so we will continue to collect your donations. It not only allows us to help a local charity/organization, but it also gives us the funds we need to host some of the fun events for you kids, provide food, purchase shirts etc. Thank you so much already for all of our generosity and all the book donations as well! We are tallying totals for overall top swimmer and top fundraiser and top swimmers in each age group. More information to come on all of that! Venmo is below:
PICTURES:
Imagetek will let me know when your pictures are available and this will be communicated to you. They will be placed in your swimmers folders when they arrive.
VOLUNTEER SHIFT SIGN UPS -
You have one more meet to get your regular season volunteer shifts in, so contact Dannie Greenleaf at [email protected] if you have questions or concerns. There are opportunities to stuff bags for Champs as well as some shifts at the Banquet. Prelim and Champs volunteer shifts are in addition to your regular season shifts. If you have a swimmer at prelims and/or Champs, you are required to volunteer. These volunteer shifts are divided up equally between all 5 teams in the division and we are expected to provide volunteers at both. Volunteer shifts are being finalized and will be provided asap so you can plan ahead.
LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FOR NEXT YEAR:
We will likely have open positions on the leadership team for next year. If you are interested in getting more involved, please see/email Patty or Shannon. We would be excited to get you on board!! There will also be open positions on the Mountain High Swim League Board which will give us needed points in order to stay in the league.
The open positions with descriptions are linked here: Mountain High Swim League Open Positions and will be voted on in September.
