Hello Sharks!  

It’s hard to believe we're at Champs already! This season flew by and we couldn’t have made it through this season without all of you! We can’t thank you enough for all of your help! Congrats to everyone on a great season! We will see some of you at Champs and everyone at the banquet. Details about the banquet are below.
 

IMPORTANT UPDATES AND INFORMATION:

CHAMPS July 16th at Holly Pool

The top 12 swimmers in each event from this week’s Prelims advance to Champs, however if your swimmer places 13th or 14th- they will be an alternate for Champs and you should plan to attend. Alternate swimmers often get in to swim and may also be needed for a relay. If you have not done so already, please let Ryan know if you are not going to be able to attend  Champs so they can adjust accordingly.

VOLUNTEER SHIFT SIGN UPS -

Prelim and Champs volunteer shifts are in addition to your regular season shifts. If you have a swimmer at prelims and/or Champs, you are required to volunteer. These volunteer shifts are divided up equally between all 5 teams in the division and we are expected to provide volunteers at both. Volunteer shifts are being finalized and will be provided asap so you can plan ahead. Contact Dannie Greenleaf  at [email protected]v with any questions.

RIBBONS:

Look for your ribbons and speeding tickets in the boxes/file folders under the awning on the tables this week! Make sure you dig deep into those pockets to make sure you get all of your ribbons/speeding tickets etc. If you got a wrong ribbon or didn’t get your ribbons and placed 1st-6th, please email our awards chair, Erika Drake at [email protected].

PICTURES: Pictures from Imagetek have arrived and can be picked up at the banquet. If you are unable to attend the banquet, reach out to Patty or Shannon and we can coordinate a time to meet you at the pool to pick it up.

LEADERSHIP POSITIONS FOR NEXT YEAR:

We will likely have open positions on the leadership team for next year. If you are interested in getting more involved, please see/email Patty or Shannon. We would be excited to get you on board!! There will also be open positions on the Mountain High Swim League Board which will give us needed points in order to stay in the league. 

The open positions with descriptions are linked here: Mountain High Swim League Open Positions and will be voted on in September. Please let us know if you are interested in one of these positions and we can submit your name to the league.

REMAINING Swim Meet Schedule and Additional Dates:

Regular Season Meet Schedule:

TEAM BANQUET: July 17th at Holly Pool from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Bring your picnic dinner and kids/adults can swim and enjoy themselves while also attending awards presentations for the different age groups. We will also  have some gift baskets that will be raffled off.  Raffle Tickets for the gift baskets are 1/$5.00 or 3/$10.00. 

We want everyone to have fun at the banquet, however we must remember to follow all of the pool rules. Some specific concerns that were brought to our attention about last year’s banquet that we didn’t consistently follow were:

1. No running on the pool deck.

2. One person on the slide at a time.

3. No unsafe behaviors in the pool

4. Follow instructions from the guards.

Please remind your Sharks about expectations so that we can continue to have this event at the pool.
