Mini Piranhas

Children, ages 4-6, not yet ready for the swim team are invited to join the Mini Piranhas, our developmental team. The Mini Piranha program is a budding swimmer program for those who may have an interest in becoming part of a team with an emphasis on teaching basic skills. To participate in Mini Piranhas, swimmers must be potty trained, willing to go under water and be water ready.

The 2025 Mini Piranhas program is limited to 20 swimmers. Because of space limitations, we are only able to accept HOA members or team member's younger siblings. If you are not a Palomar HOA member, do not have an older child on the regular team, and wish to join a waitlist for Minis Piranhas in the event that Minis do not fill, please select "Mini Piranhas Non-HOA Waitlist" option within the registration system.

Mini Piranhas meet Monday and Wednesday mornings.

NOTE: Minis is limited to 20 spots and registration will close when sessions are full.

When ready, swimmers may be promoted to the Piranhas swim team at any time during the season, at the discretion of the coaching staff. Mini Piranhas do not participate in meets; therefore, parents are not required to sign up to volunteer unless your child is invited to join the swim team. Any Mini Piranha parent who would like to volunteer should contact the volunteer coordinator.

Cost is $130 for the summer. All Mini Piranhas receive twice weekly lessons (weather permitting) and a team t-shirt. Mini Piranhas are not eligilbe for sibling discounts. Families with Mini Piranhas ONLY are not eligible for non-HOA member Palomar pool memberships.

Swim Lessons

Mini Piranhas and older swimmers may want to improve their strokes during the summer. During the Piranha season, coaches are available for individual private lessons. Sign-ups and prices will be available on the pool bulletin board.
