2024 Strawberry Seals Time Trials Meet - April 20, 2024 - Tamalpais High School

On Saturday, the Marin Swim League (MSL) competition season will kick off with the Time Trials weekend. The Time Trials will be an intra-team meet with only the Seals in attendance. 

This meet serves two main functions for our swimmers. It is a low stress environment for new members to experience their first swim meet and an opportunity for all our swimmers to establish baseline times for the season. For many of our swimmers this will be their first swim meet competition. The top priority for these swimmers is to have an enjoyable experience so that they will have a desire to participate in future meets.

We will be taking the team photo on Saturday before the meet. It is a time-consuming task to arrange our swimmers for this photo so please help us with this challenging task by arriving early for the photo.

After the Time Trials, the Seals will participate in seven Marin Swim League dual meet competitions and the season will culminate with the Marin Swim League Championship meet on June 29^th and the Seals Annual Team Awards Ceremony on June 30^th.

How many events should your swimmer sign up for?

Veteran Seals with previous competition experience should swim in all five races.

Swimmers attending their first meet should focus on the strokes they feel confident doing.  It is not necessary swim all the events at the time trials. For most competition novices, the freestyle and backstroke events are usually the best events to start with.

To register for the Strawberry Seals 2024 Time Trials, please use THIS LINK and select the “edit commitments” button. If you are not planning on attending, please decline the event when editing commitment. Registration will close Friday, April 19^th at 2:00 PM.

Important notes about the Time Trials meet:

• The meet will start with event #6, not event #1. Event #6 is the 8 and Under Girls 25 Yard Freestyle.
• There will be no relays at Time Trials (Event #s 1-5, 56-60)
• Returning swimmers have will be seeded in the meet with times from last year. New swimmers will be entered with “NT” which means “no time.” 
• Time Trial times are for seeding dual meets only and cannot be used to qualify for All Stars or for entry times at Championships.
• No ribbons will be awarded at Time Trials.
