| Meet Information |
This weekend our team is heading to sunny Santa Rosa for our second meet of the 2025-26 USA Swimming competition year. This meet will be at the Kathryn Kettler Pool, a state-of-the-art Olympic size facility at the Santa Rosa Junior College.
Our team will be required to provide one timer for lane 10 during the full duration of the meet. Timing shifts will only be one hour in duration so please arrive on time for your timing shift. If you have a younger swimmer that needs help finding their races during your timing shift, please ask a coach or another parent to help.
Please note that USA Swimming meets require preregistration, swimmers cannot be added the day of the meet.
Pre-Meet Checklist:
- Swimmers must sign-in at the check-in desk as soon as arriving at the meet venue (guardians cannot check-in swimmers). USA Swimming competitions require swimmers to check-in at least 1 hour prior to the swimmer’s first race. Check-in for each event closes approximately one hour prior to the start of that event. Swimmers who have not checked in prior to the event closing will not be seeded (assigned a heat and lane) in that event. Swimmers may scratch events at the check-in desk if the event has not already closed.
- Meet at the team tents prior to team warmup. Swimmers will meet at 8:00 AM for team warmup.
- Attend mandatory team meeting at 8:50 AM on Saturday and Sunday at the team canopy.
During the Meet:
- Frequently check for heat and lane assignments (posted at the meet and on the Meet Mobile App - requires purchase). Swimmers are assigned heat and lane assignments approximately 30 minutes before the start of each event. Swimmers who miss an event that they have checked-in for may be penalized by being automatically scratched from their next event.
- Swimmers must tell the coach the heat and lane assignment as soon as it is posted.
- Cool-down after every race. This meet will have a two warm-up and cool-down lanes available during the meet. Cooling down after a race will help your swimmer perform well as the day progresses especially in the later races. Depending on the age of the swimmer cool-down will typically be 150 – 300 yards of slow tempo swimming.
- Check-in with a coach after every race after race cool-down so we can provide feedback.
- After a race cool-down check for the next heat and lane assignment and repeat process.
Other Notes:
- Swimmers must check-in with their coach prior to scratching any race.
- Bring sunblock, extra towels, and spare clothing.
- No video is permitted on the block side of the pool. This rule is strictly enforced!

Lane Timer (simple):
- Use one watch and one plunger (not two of the same device). Start on strobe (or horn if you miss it).
- At finish, stand over lane; stop watch and/or press button when any part of swimmer touches wall.
- Report time when asked; don’t clear watch until told to “clear watches.” No stroke/turn/take‑off calls unless also assigned that role.
Head Lane Timer (simple):
- Confirm correct swimmer/relay (names/order for relays) in lane/heat/event; ensure relays swim in order.
- Collect/record manual times or note a no‑show; if asked by Chief Timer, assign one timer for relay splits/initial distances.
- Flag timing issues (missed/late pad touch or suspect times) on the sheet.
