Seal Aquatics 2025 Winter Recap and Upcoming Events

Happy New Year!

2025 was a momentous year for the Seals Aquatics program. Our membership and meet participation grew tremendously in 2025 and continues to grow, an auspicious sign of great things to come for the Seals.

A Few Fall and Winter Highlights

Fort Bragg Travel Meet – Tremendous Turnout and a Joyful Team Bonding Experience

Always the highlight of our fall season, this year’s Fort Bragg meet did not disappoint. Our team brought 45 swimmers, our second biggest turnout for a travel meet, and our largest turnout since 2019 for any USA meet. Fast swims, a relaxing and fun team dinner, and strong friendships among our swimmers made this our most memorable trip to Fort Bragg in the last 14 years since we started attending this meet.

On behalf of the Seals, thank you to Betty Lee-Hoang, Sherief Meleis and Ian Schwartz for all your hard work in promoting and planning this event. And thank you to all our timer volunteers, to Ian Schwartz and Greig Nielson for representing our team as stroke and turn officials at this meet, and to all our wonderful swimmers who participated in this meet.

Coach Morne’s Recap of Pacific Swimming Winter Age Group Championships

The 2025 Pacific Swimming Winter Age Group Championship meet (Dec. 12-14) was full of excitement and learning at the Pacific Swimming Winter Age Group Championships. We are grateful to all the swimmers and families who showed up and competed despite difficult weather, representing the Seals with pride, focus, and sportsmanship. Strong results, multiple finals, and relay swims showed our athletes putting their practice to work.

Ashlyn had several strong races and unlocked a new level in her 200 backstroke and 100 IM. She raced with confidence and commitment, giving us valuable insight for the next phase of her development.

Noelle swam personal bests in the 100 freestyle and 50 butterfly, showing that the work being done in practice is translating into fast racing.

Zach competed with focus and determination despite the wintry conditions, posting best times in his 50 backstroke and 100 IM and showing strong effort in every race.

Greyson had a consistent meet, earning victories in the 50, 100, and 200 breaststroke and qualifying for finals in all her events. She showed the ability to reset quickly between races, showing grit and perseverance.

Saturday night finals were a highlight, with two relays representing the Seals. The boys relay of Zach, Teddy, Channing, and Milo raced in finals, while Polina joined Noelle, Ashlyn, and Greyson on the girls relay to proudly represent the team. These moments are earned through commitment and teamwork.

This meet was a reminder that progress comes from discipline, consistency, and trusting the process. Great work, everyone.

Greyson Scheumann Selected for Pacific Coast All Star Meet

Greyson Scheuman was selected for the Pacific Swimming All Star Team representing Pacific Swimming and the Seals at the meet on January 3rd and 4th. Congratulations to Greyson for achieving a spot on this extremely selective team. There are about two thousand 11-12 girls in Pacific Swimming and Greyson was one of 8 selected to represent Pacific Swimming

At the All Star meet Greyson brought her best efforts to all her races producing lifetime best swims in all her events, a “perfect meet.” Thank you and congratulations to Greyson for her selection to the Pac Coast All Star meet and her outstanding performance at the meet.
