Registration for the 2026 season will open in early 2026.
We anticipate opening registration for the 2026 season to returning swimmers in February of 2026. New swimmers must participate in a new swimmer assessment prior to registering for the season.
New Swimmer Assessment/Tryouts
The date and location for the 2026 New Swimmer Assessment will be announced in January of 2026.
Below, please find general details of the assessment process:
Anyone who is not a previous member of the Triton swim team must attend the New Swimmer Assessment, even if they have been on another team.
At the tryout your swimmer(s) will be asked to swim 1 or 2 lengths of the pool while the coaching staff review and assess their current level.
The coaching staff does not require a swimmer to have mastered swimming, but the swimmer must demonstrate a comfortability in the water, and an ability to:
- swim with their face in the water;
- swim without stopping;
- swim unassisted, i.e. no use of the lane lines or wall;
- breath comfortably on their side or back, or while lifting their head without impeding their stroke; and
- enter the water without the assistance of a 3rd party, i.e. without a coach or parent.
Please note, a swimmer must have proper swim attire. This includes a proper swim suit, goggles, and a swim cap if applicable. Swimmers without proper attire will not be able to participate.
Boot Camp
If your swimmer does not pass the assessment but the coaches deem them as being very close to meeting all of the above requirements, they may reccomend your swimmer attend a 1-week "Boot Camp." The camp is typically held the week prior to the start of the regular practice season. Swimmers will be assessed at the end of Boot Camp for the readiness to join to the swim team. Details on Boot Camp will be provided at the assessment.
