Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers are a vital part of our swim season. Without our amazing parent volunteers, our swimmers would not be able to attend swim meets. When you register a swimmer for the Laguna Creek Gators Swim Team you agree to the volunteer requirement. This is for all our children so let's all do our part. We are called to serve!!
- A minimum of six (6) volunteer shifts is required during the regular swim season and 2 volunteer shifts are required for the Conference Championship meet
Note: Families with only a single 6 & under swimmer will be required to complete only 1 shift at Championships.
- Each family must provide at least one adult to work a shift on EACH DAY at the Conference Championship meet.
- Volunteer Fee:
- A $50 per volunteer shift fee will be charged for every shift NOT COMPLETED at the end of the swim season in July to your LCRC house account.
- Maximum penalty is $400 (8 shifts x $50).
- A $50 per volunteer shift fee will be charged for every shift NOT COMPLETED at the end of the swim season in July to your LCRC house account.
- Volunteer job descriptions are available under Parent Resources on lcrcgators.com.
- Most jobs will be filled on a first-come first-served basis
- Volunteer Sign Up will be available online at www.lcrcgators.com. You must register for a volunteer position online per meet. If you are not able to volunteer or have a proxy volunteer for your family please contact the Volunteer Coordinator before the meet date.
- Jobs for Champs will be pre-assigned by the Volunteer Coordinator, and you will be notified of your assignment prior to the weekend of Champs.
- There will be additional opportunities for events outside of swim meets to fulfill volunteer shifts. If you are worried about missing meets and having enough opportunities to complete the volunteer requirements, please reach out to the volunteer coordinator to see if one of these opportunities will work for you. If no one reaches out to make arrangements then they will be open opportunities to volunteer on a first come first serve basis.
Volunteer
- I don’t want to attend swim meets. Do I still have to volunteer?
- Yes. We are a “Team”. When registering each family agreed to the required volunteer 6 shifts to support the team as a whole.
- I’m the only parent at the meet with my 2 swimmers. Do I have to volunteer?
- Yes. We understand the challenges of juggling 1+ swimmers. Please plan ahead for upcoming events to ensure your availability to meet the volunteer requirement.
- Tip: Volunteer for a team age group tent that your swimmer falls under or next to them.
- I signed up to volunteer but my whole family came down with an illness. What can I do?
- Yikes! Stay home and rest. If you can, please try to coordinate with another family to help cover your volunteer session. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as you can so we can adjust. In addition, contact the coach to let them know to remove your swimmer so the team does not scratch. When you are feeling better contact the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss possible options at other team activities.
- I don’t have time to volunteer. I would like swimmer’s sibling to volunteer. What are my options?
- We understand the struggles. At this time we are asking that all of our volunteers be over 18 years of age to fulfill the volunteer positions.
- I don’t want anything complicated. What can I do?
- Volunteer positions are straightforward and fun. They are a great way to learn more about the ins and outs of swimming, build friendships with other families, get to know the other swimmers, and see the proud smile of your swimmer as they see your hands-on support.
- Tip: Sign up for different positions. You might be surprised and discover a hidden talent or a new like.
