Head Coach: Olivia Borawski
Hello Lightning! My name is Coach Olivia and I am thrilled to be joining you all for another amazing summer at Lincolnwood.
Coach Olivia began swimming at a young age and joined a competitive club team at age 8. She quickly developed a love for the sport and continued to swim competitively with her club team, Lincolnwood Lightning, as well as on Northside College Preparatory High School’s swim team. Throughout her career, she attended YMCA State, Age Group State, YMCA Nationals, IHSA, and NCSAs. She was determined to continue her athletic journey, participating in club swimming at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in History and Secondary Education.
She currently works as a teacher in CPS in Rogers Park and enjoys training for her next athletic challenges: marathons and triathlons. Olivia was a swimmer first before becoming a coach at Lightning in 2018.
Coach Olivia has helped swimmers at all levels: from learning how to swim, to attending Varsity City, IHSAs, NCSAs, and even becoming collegiate athletes. Olivia integrates the fundamental principles of learning through structure and positivity in her teaching philosophy. She always enjoys sharing her passion and swim knowledge to help swimmers reach their potential: both in and out of the pool
Assistant Head Coach: Kameron McBride

Hi, Lightning family! I’m Coach Kam, the assistant head coach. I attended Evanston Township High School, where I swam and played water polo all four years. I recently graduated from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. I’ve been coaching here since 2018, but I’ve been a part of this team my entire life—both of my parents have coached for Lightning. I’m super excited for this season and can’t wait to be back by the pool!

This year he is entering his second year of coaching Level 3 swimmers and also works as a manager at the aquatic facility. Ryan is passionate about motivating athletes to reach their competitive swimming goals through energetic coaching, focusing on developing technical skills and racing strategy. Outside of the pool, Ryan is a freshman at Northwestern University studying Economics and Psychology. In his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, traveling, watching Chicago sports, and, of course, swimming.
Age Group Coaches
Age Group Head Coach: Andrea Esperon
Hello everyone! I’m Coach Andrea, and I’ve been coaching with Lincolnwood Lightning since 2021. I recently graduated from Boston University, where I majored in Public Relations. I also graduated high school from Lane Tech College Prep, where I held CPS and school records. I had the opportunity to represent teams such as Team Illinois for Multi-Cultural Zones, the Filipino-foreign Philippines Swim Team at Singapore Open, and more. My mission as a coach is not only to train athletes but instill a level of confidence in and out of the pool!
Assistant Coach: James Graham
Hello! My name is James, one of the L2 coaches at Lincolnwood Lightning! I currently attend Purdue University, studying electrical engineering, and I'm a proud member of the Purdue Swim Club. Outside of swimming, I play the euphonium in Purdue's concert bands and pep bands, and I work as a lifeguard here at Proesel Park. Some of my hobbies include swimming, (duh) math, science, cooking, and video games. I'm around the pool quite a lot, so if you ever see me, don't be afraid to say hello and talk with me! See you on deck!
