2024 Lincolnwood Lightning Season begins tomorrow!

Welcome to the 2024 Summer Swim Season!  

The summer 2024 season for Lincolnwood Lightning officially begins tomorrow!! After taking a look at the forecast, the weather looks good and the outdoor facility ( Address: 7055 N Kostner Ave, Lincolnwood, IL 60712) is on schedule for our first practice tomorrow Monday, May 13th for L3 and L1.  

Location Information: The pool is located at the corner of Lincoln Ave. and Kostner on the Northwest side of Proesler Park. It is easily accessible from the 194 Touhy Ave exit. There is ample parking on Kostner Ave and in the lot located just outside the pool. To enter the pool, walk through the wooden arch and enter through the doors!  

Practice Information: Our  PRACTICE SCHEDULE has been posted so please attend the appropriate times and days. Returning swimmers do not need to try out but should start with the group they practiced with from last year unless we have contacted you otherwise. Please make sure that your swimmer comes wearing their swimsuit, with towel, googles, cap, and a water bottle! Please try to arrive to practice 15 minutes prior to start time! After practice swimmers will be able to change and rinse off in the locker room!  

Note: There is no practice on Friday 5/17 for returning swimmers, that is our tryout day for new members. We will keep you updated in case of weather etc. 

Practice Schedule: Week of 5/13/2024 - 5/18/2024  

Tryout/Placement Information: Tryouts for our potential new swimmers are still scheduled for Friday, May 17th! Please arrive already wearing your swimsuit! 

On Sunday, May 19th we will email folks their assignment and the payment instructions if they are assigned to the team. Please purchase training fins right away from our Gear Store (mandatory for all members) on www.lwswim.org  and make payment to the Village as soon as your swimmer receives their placement. 

Note: Tryout Makeups are on Monday 5/20 at 5:45PM!

Meet Information: Start registering for the 2024 season. All the EVENTS that will be happening this season are on our website. 

Communication: Make sure to read the weekly emails (from “lightning desk- team unify”)! They contain only the information you need to know. Meet Schedule and Intersquad meets, and volunteer signup are all on the website now. Parents can add as many emails to their account as they like: log in to  www.lwswim.org with the email and password you used to sign up, and go to  “my account- edit”. 

 Sign up for our text updates in case of weather emergencies! In case of weather/ pool issues, log in to the website and go to “my account- ADD SMS”. Put in your phone and carrier. Every summer, we have a couple of last-hour cancellations or pool issues. 

Returning Member Payment Information: For our returning members, this year we will be doing payments for the swim team through the village. I have attached the fees for the swim team this year as a guiding reference for filling out the form! 

New Member Payment Information: Please hold off on payment, once your swimmer makes the team you will be able to submit your payment to the village!
