Heartbreaking News: The Passing of Coach John

Dear Lincolnwood Lightning,

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Coach John’s passing today after a brief illness. Coach John was a dedicated and beloved member of our coaching staff for the last 10 years with the Lincolnwood Lightning, and his impact on the sport and community spans over 50 years. He coached at Iguanas Swim Club in Chicago, Jane Addams Hull House in Uptown, the South Side YMCA, and New City YMCA.

This is a difficult loss for the Lincolnwood Lightning family! For any team members who would like to gather and share their thoughts or discuss how we can honor Coach John, we will discuss this at the beginning of the summer season.

We are in contact with Coach John’s family and will share funeral arrangements as soon as they are available.
