2025 Swim & Dive Meet Volunteer Worker Requirements

  • Each family is required to work 4 sessions during the regular season.

  • If your child is only on the dive team, then you are required to work 4 dive meets.

  • If your child is participating in a post season meet, you are required to work the meet.

  • You must sign-in with our Volunteer Chair at volunteer table to receive credit for working.

  • A session is:

    • ​Half a swim meet

    • A complete dive meet

    • If you chair a committee, your worker requirements are met.

  • If you have a swimmer and a diver, we ask that you fill the dive meet worker sessions first.  

  • If you DO NOT meet your meet worker requirements as confirmed by signing in with the Volunteer Chairperson, then the $150.00 worker fee will be debited from your credit card on file at the completion of the season.

Officials Trainings: Please consider attending a training session. Last year we were short on workers for trained positions.

  • Diving Officials Training: TBD
  • Swimming Officials Training: TBD

Swim Positions:

Announcer: Calls for swimmers at each race, makes general announcements regarding team sponsers and meet meals.  Need 1 per home meet.

Official Place Judge (head picker): Records the order of finish for all 6 lanes of each race.  Need 1 per home meet.

Stroke/Turn Judge: Must be certified for this position.  Need 1 per meet.

Timer & Timer/Place Judge (Recorder): Each person times the race.  The timer records the time.  The timer/place judge also times, and they determine the place of the swimmer in their lane.  Need 6 per meet per half.

 

Runners: Responsible to collecting lane/timer papers adn DQ papers from lane timers/place judges to computer operator.  Need 1 per meet, per half.

 

Computer Operator: Enter results of race.  Must be trained.  Need 1 per home meet.

Assistant Computer Operator: Helps with entry of results for each race.  Need 1 per away meet.

Cookout: Prepares and sells food.  First half workers must have food ready to serve after warm ups. Second half workers must help with clean-up and tear down of the grill and concession area.  Need 3 per home meet, per half.

   


Dive Positions

 

Score Tabulator (Table Worker): Hand write the scores as they are called by the announcer.  Need 1 per dive meet.

Judges: Must be certified for this position.  Need 3 per home meet, and 2 per away meet.

Computer Operator: Must be trained in the use of Edive software.  They enter scores in computer.  Need 1 per home meet.

Announcer: Announces divers, scores, and announces team sponsors.  Need 1 per home meet.

 

Workers Report

  • Cookout Workers should arrive at 4:30 PM so that food can be served when warm ups are over at 5:15.

  • 1st Session Workers should arrive at 6:00 PM. Meeting at 6:15 PM and meet starts at 6:30 PM.

  • 2nd Session Workers should arrive at 7:30 and start at 7:45 PM.  

  • The 2nd Session Workers is approximate because it depends on how fast meet is running.  The 2nd session will begin at the first backstroke event.
