Head Coach Josh May

Josh May is a Special Education teacher who graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2019. For eleven years he swam with the Itasca Dolphins Park District, and for four years he swam at Lake Park High School. He has also swam for Wheaton Swim Club and the Elk Grove Stingrays. After several years as a swim instructor, Josh began his coaching career with the Roselle Park District in 2017, where he enjoyed working with age group swimmers until 2023. Josh also has extensive experience coaching high school swimming; he has been a JV swim coach at West Chicago High School for the boys since 2019, as well as the girls since 2021. Additionally, Josh has coached developing, age group, and senior swimmers for the West Chicago Sharks Club Swim Team. Josh loves to keep his swimmers positive and motivated. He encourages his swimmers to give their best effort each time they are in the pool, focusing on how they can swim stronger and faster. He is excited to join the Cobras as the Head Coach for the 2025 season and looks forward to a summer season of hard work, team building, and all-around fun!
