MEET PROCEDURES
What to bring: Several towels, blanket or sleeping bag to lay on, water or electrolyte replacement drink (Gatorade, propel, G2 etc.), healthy high energy snacks, warm clothing for evening and early mornings that might be cool especially if wet, shade for those really hot Saturdays, sunscreen, extra goggles, bug spray. Put your swimmer’s name on everything!
If you have any changes to your meet participation plans that you entered originally when you completed your online meet declaration during the registration process, you must make ALL changes online before that particular meet deadline.
For Sat. morning meets swimmers must arrive no later than 7:30
For Tues. or Thurs. afternoon meets swimmers must arrive no later than 4:30
- The first thing that swimmers should do when they arrive at the meet is go and do positive check in. Clip boards will be hanging from the fence. Swimmers should find their age group and name and highlight their name and events on the sheet. If they fail to do positive check in, they may get scratched from a meet.
- Younger swimmers are suggested to have their parents write their events on their hand. This just helps them to remember their events, heat and lane.
- Usually between 7:45-8:00 am (morning meets) and 4:45-5:00 pm (evening meets) the coaches will begin calling age groups for warm ups. Swimmers should be ready when their group is called. (usually the 5 and 6 year olds do not warm up).
- Swimmers should stay in our team area so that when the clerks of course begin calling swimmers for lineups they will hear their group being called. This usually begins at about 8:15am (morning meets) and at about 5:15pm (evening meets).
- The meet will begin promptly at 8:30am or at 5:30pm.
- If you are working the meet, check the job descriptions/arrival times online. Set up crew needs to arrive no later than 7:00 am and 4:00 pm.
