Coach Ken DiCesare
This is Coach Ken's 17th year as Head Coach of Hollin Meadows and his 18th year with the team. He has led the Barracudas to numerous meet wins, seven divisional champion seasons and six divisional sportsmanship seasons. He was also named Coach of the Year at the Mt. Vernon IM Invitational in 2016.
Not only does Ken run the helm during the summer, he also coaches our winter swim program, allowing many Barracudas to be with him year-round. When he's not coaching in the summer, you can find him on deck at USS meets and practices, where he has been an age group coach for USS swim club NCAP of Alexandria for over 20 years.
Ken is retiring this year as a special education teacher from the City of Falls Church Public Schools and we applaud his years of service as an educator. It will be a joy to have Coach Ken back on deck running the show!
Coach Kaitlyn Gerke
Coach Kaitlyn grew up a swimmer, immersed in the sport as part of a big swimming family. She competed for the Northern Virginia Swimming League (NVSL) at Virginia Hills Swim Club and Hollin Meadows Swim and Tennis Club. She also swam year-round for Nations Capital Swim Club (NCAP) and in high school for Bishop Ireton HS.
Coach Kaitlyn knew that she loved coaching from the moment she started…back as a junior coach for the Barracudas! Along with Hollin Meadows, Coach Kaitlyn has coached at James Madison University, Highland Park, Stratford Landing and Mt Vernon Country Club.
Coach Kaitlyn is currently a coach for NCAP and the Head Coach for Bishop Ireton HS Swim & Dive, serving on the VISAA executive board for high school swim.
Coach Kaitlyn’s goal is to instill a love of swimming, pride in representing the Barracudas and commitment to both individual and team success and improvement.
