Swim Meet 101
Gators Swim Meet Info for New Families!
Welcome to your first swim meet! Hereโs everything you need to know to make it a smooth and fun experience.
When to Arrive:

Arrive at least 15-30 minutes before warm-ups (times will be sent before each meet).

Check in with the coaches upon arrival.
What to Bring:
Swim gear - suit, cap, goggles (bring extras just in case!).
Towels โ at least 2, as they get wet quickly.
Chairs/Blankets โ for seating in the team area.
Snacks & Water โ meets can be long, so stay hydrated and fueled.
Cash โ grab a breakfast sandwich or burgers at concessions.
Sunscreen & Shade โ hats, umbrellas, or pop-up tents for outdoor meets.
Sharpie Marker โ to write event info on your swimmerโs arm.
Team Spirit! โ cheer on your teammates and have fun!
What to Expect:

Warm-ups happen first, followed by some relays, then individual events.

Events will be calledโhelp younger swimmers get to their lanes.

Be ready for lots of cheering and an exciting team atmosphere!

Meets can last several hours, so be prepared to stay and support the team.

Remember to stay after the meet to help put the pool back together for our community.
