Glenwood Dive - Welcome!
Hello Dive Families! Welcome to Glenwood 2025!!!
We are incredibly excited to kick off GW Dive 2025 with our first pre-season email that includes some important deets and dates . . . so be sure to get out your pencils and calendars and mark this down!
First big news is that the GLENWOOD ONLINE STORE IS OPEN. Shop for hoodies, tees, shorts, sweatpants, outerwear, blankets, hats, and so much more fabulous green stuff right here. The store closes May 9, and our sportswear team expects deliveries to be made before our first dual meet.
Second big news is that Glenwood is now once again in Division II. Due to a new team joining MCDL (aka Montgomery County Dive League) this summer (yay!) the divisions were re-divided last month and we ended up back with our friends in Division II after the shortest ever stint in Division I, LOL!!!
Third big news is that DIVE TEAM REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 5TH for this summer. You can sign up your divers(s) right here for a summer of fun with their friends learning new skills and tricks on the boards.
OTHER KEY UPCOMING DATES:
Diving-well warmup: Join us on Tuesday, May 27th, from 5-7 at the diving well for an informal meet and greet with our coaches and dive reps. We will welcome back returning Tigers and introduce ourselves to interested new families. Do you know someone with an aspiring diver? Families new to Glenwood? Have them come and join us and see what diving is all about! (Note: this is not a potluck, but divers will have the chance to warm-up the boards.)
Practices: Begin on Wednesday, May 28th. Afternoon practices are by open age group to accommodate school and swim team schedules. Your diver can attend the 45-minute session that works best for your family's schedule: 4:15-5:00; 5:00-5:45; or 5:45-6:30. Morning practices will be offered once MCPS is done for the year.
Family potluck: Sunday, June 8th - We'll socialize, take some pics and ramp up Tiger spirit. (More details to follow.)
First dive meet: Sunday June 15th - At Glenwood. (More details to follow.)
JUDGES' TRAINING
MCDL is initiating a new hybrid judges' training for this summer that includes an online introduction followed by an in-person/pool-side training. Reports are in that the online introduction is informative and will really help ensure that everyone attending the poolside training is well-grounded in the MCDL guidelines. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
We look forward to seeing you soon. And, as always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!!
Your Dive Reps,
Sara and Carrie (and Treasurer Traci)
