Midweek Newsflash - Sunday Meet Info/Jobs Update and Needs

Hey There Overheating Dive Peeps,

Wow! Did you see the legion of green T-s hanging around the pool yesterday and today? Creativity unleashed! Be sure to have your diver wear their T to the dive meet this weekend! Please read on for info about Sunday’s meet and a few jobs needs.

 

Home Meet Against Old Georgetown this Weekend

Dive Sheets: Sign ‘em on Friday or during warm-ups on Sunday.

Anthem: We are looking for a few Tigers to lead the meet with the National Anthem. Interested Tigers, talk to a Rep!

Parking: Looks like the warm weather will hold through the weekend and Glenwood is likely to be hopping on Sunday. Because of this we encourage you to park in the upper lot near Flora Singer if you can in order to leave max spots for our guests and other GW patrons.

Concessions & Swag: Glenwood Grill will be open with chicken kebabs, hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers on the grill, snacks, fruit, and drinks. The Glenwood Gear tent will also be on hand with cozy flannel pants, sweatshirts . . . . T-'s, tanks, car magnets, and stickers.

Timing: As usual, the first half will start promptly at 4:00 pm. The second half will start when the first half is over. For warm ups 12 & unders should plan to arrive at 2:30 pm with warm ups beginning at 2:45 pm and Old Georgetown will have the boards at 3:30 pm. 13-18s please arrive by 5:00 pm for warm-ups and for honoring Izzy.

Honoring Izzy: this Sunday is our Senior Meet, where we'll be honoring our one and only senior diver, Izzy. During halftime, Coach Noah say a few words in her honor and we'll snap some photos, including a full team photo. We would love to have as many divers as possible present for the team photo.
Tiger Spirit: To make our team photo as festively green as possible we encourage Tigers to wear their newly adorned shirts. We'll also have bodypaints and other fun green accessories available.

 

Jobs Update and a Need for this Weekend

In general we are doing great on jobs this year. A few notes and a request:

  • Thank you to all families who've been flexible when we've reached out to you for particular help or changes!!
  • Please double check your jobs for this weekend to ensure you know when and where to be. 
    • First half table workers, announcer, and officials please check in at the meet table at 3:45.
    • Second half folks, please check in at the beginning of the break, which is likely to start around 5:30. (Even if your job listing has another time on it.)
    • If, for some reason you need to bow out of a job, please provide us with as much notice as possible, so we can fill it. Thanks to those who have done so.
  • Speaking of open jobs: We have a need for a Costco Shopper for this weekend's meet. This is a flexible job where you can shop and deliver anytime Saturday or early Sunday. Please email Sara at [email protected]
  • Also, we are looking to train someone up as an announcer, so if you are comfortable on a mic and adept at multi-tasking, please let us know.
