Lots of Details . . . Packed Week Ahead!
Hello Dedicated Parents!
Hang in there, just a little over a week to go until the summer dive team madness wraps up. Read below for important end of season details!!!
The Seven Locks Sharks did their best Jaws impersonation, but just couldn't quite sink their teeth in and Glenwood dived away with a score of 54-34. Speaking of winning, we also prevailed in our make-up meet against Old Georgetown, so chalk up two victories in one week! And let's not forget the Family Dive Meet, where brave parents made a splash - literally - and everyone walked away a winner thanks to the amazing entertainment. Speaking of show-stealers... how about those pint-sized announcers? Sara and Jimmy will be out of a job in no time!
Record Alert! Huge shoutout to Lucrecia 'Lucy' Rodriguez, who shattered the 9-10 girls' record with an incredible score of 95.65, breaking the previous record of 89.20 set by Grace Morford in 2016. That's a jaw-dropping 6 point margin - go Lucy!
Practices continue as usual this week (including Wednesday afternoon). Also, coming up . . .
Robin Hood Invitational
This meet, Friday 7/18, brings together all divers from across the MCDL not competing at Divisionals. It is a fabulous meet, showcasing divers and their accomplishments this season. The youngest divers have their own age group, 6&under, then 7-8s, 9-10s, 11-12s, 13-14s, and 15-18s. This is a FRIDAY afternoon meet; let us know if your diver needs help with carpooling to be sure to participate.
2025 DIVISION II CHAMPIONSHIP
We’re back to Robin Hood for the Division II dive team championship on July 20th. During this meet, all five teams from our division send two boys and two girls for each age group. Coach Noah will send out the list of who will be our Divisional divers soon. Dive Reps will be reaching out early this week for the jobs we will need to cover during this meet. Thanks in advance for your help!
GLENWOOD DIVE TEAM AWARDS BANQUET
This dive team tradition begins with a great dinner, a paper plate award for every diver, and then trophies and other awards. We convene on Monday, July 21 at the Knights of Columbus in the neighborhood. The banquet is for divers and their immediate families. You may purchase tickets HERE.
GIFTS FOR DIVE COACHES
We invite your family to donate to the end-of-season cash gifts for our amazing coaches, Noah, Daniel, Aidan, Keira, and Morgan, to show our gratitude and appreciation. Those wishing to send money may Venmo @vboys. Please include a message that your gift is for Dive Team coaches. Contributions may also be placed in the Vagnucci family folder (there are extra envelopes in the folder, so please label your donation). Thank you in advance for your generosity!
