Welcome to the Braemar Blasters!

"Blasters swimming brings out the best in the Braemar community"

The Braemar Blasters Swim Team was founded in 1999 as part of the Braemar community in Bristow, VA. The team competes in the Prince William Swim League (PWSL). The PWSL was founded in 1972 to encourage the sport of swimming in Prince William County and follows USA Swimming rules. There are currently 24 teams in the PWSL .

The Braemar Blasters Swim Team promotes a love of swimming through the advancement of aquatic skills combined with the principles of good sportsmanship and teamwork. All Braemar Blasters, regardless of age or ability level, will be treated fairly. A swimmer's mark of excellence is determined by his or her self-improvement, self-determination and self-accomplishment.

Our professional coaching staff teaches technical swimming proficiency, proper body conditioning, goal setting, motivation, and sportsmanship. Our swimmers develop a positive self-image through commitment and perseverance. Active participation in practice instills the ability to adhere to rules, respect peers and learn self-discipline. Competitive events allow a swimmer to negotiate success and failure and contribute to the overall spirit of the team, in addition to many other invaluable life lessons. Our swimmers can depend on a family-oriented setting that creates an atmosphere of fun, social interaction and fellowship.

Our Programs

The Blasters (competitive) program is open to children ages 4 - 18. Children who will be participating in meets must be able to swim one stroke across the pool (25 meters) unassisted. Meet eligibility will be determined by the coaching staff during the season

The Microblasters (developmental) program is for children ages 4 - 7. They must be comfortable in the water and able to swim several yards unassisted. Microblasters will not participate in regular meets but will participate in at least one mini-meet during the season
