IMPORTANT Divisional Volunteer Information!
Hey, Hey, HEY! AAAHHHHH! Divisionals is coming this weekend!!! So exciting!!!! In order for us to make sure we are the best volunteers we can be (which you always are) we need to go over a few things.
Divisionals is AMAZING! It is important that we are doing our best so the meet can run smoothly. Please read the directions in the attached chart and/or on your nametag. There are MANY specific things and locations where volunteers need to meet, etc. Take a look at the map as well for parking and setting up.
Divisionals requires a lot of flexiblity. Timers and Recorders will not have lane assignments before the meet. The Head Timers will determine that before the meet starts.
If you feel at all that you are not entirely sure what your volunteer job requires, please come see me this week. It'll take 5 minutes to run through whatever clarifications you need.
If you do not come to the meet please let me know, after Coach Lauren. I won't know that you aren't filling your position and therefore cannot fill your position until the very last second.
When you arrive to set up, please make sure you check in with me before the timer/recorder meeting.
When there is a shift change, you need to be at your location on time to relieve our volunteers. Please be prompt--or even show up a few minutes early.
ALSO- A HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE Thank You!!!! to Mrs. Giles for all her hard work with the Lapathon!!! Make sure to tell her thanks sometime this week.
On a little personal note....
The past few meets a lot of our kids have been called to the clerk of course. Our Clerk of Course lady was walking all over kingdom come to find swimmers. This should not happen. If your swimmer is old enough to know what their events are, they are old enough to listen for those events and go to clerk of course. This should be their priority. If your swimmers are little- PLEASE help them get to clerk of course on time.
A gentle reminder that our swimmers are not allowed to have any kind of words or drawings on their backs or arms other than their event numbers. This is a league rule. We can be DQ'd from the meet immediately.
Yesterday there were SEVERAL of our swimmers playing in the deep end of the pool, kids getting water in their caps, etc.. This is not allowed either. This is also a league rule. Even when they were told not to, the same kids came back 5 minutes later and continued playing in the pool. Please make sure your children know about this and help them to stay out of the pool.
I think that's it! There are still a few spots left that need to be filled.
So grateful for each of you that gives of their time and talent.
Your Volunteer Coordinator,
Sarah Smith
