Lancer News - Week 3

Margi Bilock

Great job on a successful first dual meet against the Ashland Stingrays this past Saturday!  Everyone swam great, parent volunteers were top notch and a good time was had by all!

Lil Lancers started practicing today! 10:45-11:30am (T, W, Th)

Competitive team, you need to commit by Tuesday evening as Coach Lauren will start entries on Wednesday for our away meet this Saturday against Braemar. Please update even if your swimmer won't be there. Otherwise we will have to track them down on deck later this week and we would rather put that time to better use.

This week we have our second Fun Friday to end the week (only for competitive team members, no practice for Jr or Lil Lancers). The theme is TIE-DYE.

Be on the lookout for an email about Lancer Buddies that outlines the weekly themes and details about your buddies.

Mark your calendars for the following:

- Lil Lancer Mini Meet date change: Thursday, 6/27 @ 10am

Team Pictures: July 5th at 9am

Home Meet against Veterans Park: July 6th

VERY IMPORTANT:

There have been multiple incidences of destruction during our practices at the pool that are unacceptable. Kids were "hulk smashing" ping pong balls, breaking ping pong paddles, dumping large piles of sand in the pavilion, kicking balls over the fence into the woods, to name a few. All of the items involved belonged to the swim club, not the team and these behaviors are completely disrespectful. The club is under new management this summer and we are doing our best to develop a mutually respectful relationship with them.  Unfortunately, occurrences such as these are hindering this process. Parents are reminded that they MUST remain on deck or under a pavilion to supervise any of their swimmers aged 12 or under at the club when they are not in the pool practicing. If they cannot be on deck, they need to assign an adult to be in charge of their child(ren).

Swim club news:

- The swim club is offering swim lessons. If you have children that were too young for Lil Lancers, this is a perfect alternative. Families do NOT need to be club members to take lessons here. Details can be found at this link: https://swimlakeridge.wpcomstaging.com/swim-lessons/

See you on deck!
