NOTE:

Can swimmers do other sports?

We currently have swimmers who participate in other sports. If the swimmer has great time-management skills, he/she can do other sports. There are great benefits with cross-training in multiple areas. However, please keep in mind that the athletes should swim the minimum recommendation for attendance so he/she can continue to improve in the sport throughout the season.

ATTENDANCE:

Attendance is importance to see improvement. We encourage to come as many practices as possible.

SWIM MEETS:

NOTE:     How many meets are we expected attend?

We would like to see the swimmers compete at least once a month. We will typically have on average about 1-2 competitive meets a month. Introductory meets vary more in terms of scheduling. All swimmers are expected to compete in their appropriate championship meet.

WHY SWIM MEETS MATTER

Swim meets are a vital part of every swimmer’s development — not just for tracking time improvements, but for building confidence, race experience, and technical growth. Meets provide a unique opportunity to apply what’s learned in practice and to perform under pressure.

They also play a key role in developing mental toughness and resilience.
Meets test an athlete’s ability to cope with high-pressure situations, adapt to unexpected outcomes, and learn how to bounce back after setbacks — all while maintaining a positive and focused attitude. These are lifelong skills that extend far beyond the pool.

We typically offer at least one meet per month during the season.
    •    Premier Group swimmers are expected to compete in as many meets as possible, especially championship and qualifying events.
    •    Elite, Advanced, and Junior swimmers are encouraged to attend as many meets as they can to maximize growth and experience.
    •    Recreational swimmers are invited to participate in 1–2 meets per season for fun, learning, and team connection.

If you anticipate any conflicts with meet dates, please let the coaching staff know as early as possible so we can adjust accordingly and support your swimmer’s progress.
