Practice Philosophy

Weather permitting, Outdoor after school practices will start Tuesday May 27th, 2025.  6th grade and up will be from 4-5 pm and 5th grade and younger will be from 5-6 pm. Morning practices will start Wednesday, June 4th.  A practice calendar with age groups and times will be posted on the team website (stonebridgesharks.org).

It is recommended that all swimmers attend practice every day; however, considerations are given for camp, vacations, illness, or other pre-scheduled activities.  Please contact the Head Coach if your swimmer will be out of practice. Contact information for the coaching staff will also be available on the website.

Friday practices may include “Friday Funday” activities as well as technique days where the coaches will focus on starts, turns, and finishes.  The schedule is up to the coaching staff’s discretion. Practices will take place in addition to Fun Friday for the 9 and up age groups.  See practice schedule.

Meet Expectations

There will be 8-10 dual meets this season. All meets will be listed on the team website along with directions to the other team pools for away meets.  It is required to participate in at least 1 away meet and 3 total meets to be eligible for the Gold Trident Conference Championship Meet.

Positive check-in for every dual meet is 5:45 p.m.  When your swimmer arrives, they are to go to the team area and check-in with one of the coaches.  Failure to positive check-in before warm-ups may result in having your swimmer removed from the meet.

All swimmers are to stay in the team area at all times.  Bullpen volunteers will continue to line up 10 and under swimmers.  They are not able to look all over the pool area for swimmers prior to their events.

Please notify the Head Coach as soon as possible if your swimmer has signed up for a meet and cannot attend.  If you have not signed up for the meet, please do not show up and expect your child to swim.

All swimmers are highly encouraged to wear their team suit and cap to all meets.

Parent Volunteer Positions

It takes many helping hands to run a successful swim program.  Therefore, we require parents to sign up and work the meets.  Meet sign up will through Team Unify.

Please arrive at the meet and check-in for all volunteer positions by 5:45 p.m.  If you commit to a date and cannot attend, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.  Please notify the Volunteer Coordinator if there is a change in the schedule, so that we know all jobs are covered.

If you have signed up to work a meet, please be committed to work.  This means that you are not watching other children or sending a babysitter to fill your position.

Meet Ribbons

Swimmers will receive a ribbon for most races in which they participate (unless they are disqualified from the race).  Ribbons will not be available the night of the meet.  Each family will have an alphabetically arranged folder for their swimmers’ ribbons and awards.  Ribbons will be located in the Sharks mailbox at the pool before and after practice each day.

End of Season Conference Meet and Awards

Our team participates in two Trident Conference Meets at the end of the season.  The coaches will let your swimmer know which meet they will attend.

Silver Conference Meet – Thursday  July 10, 2025

Gold Conference Meet – Prelims/FInals Format Saturday July 12, 2025 Metea Valley High School .

We will celebrate the season with the Sharks Awards Dinner on the evening of July 12, 2025. This is a fun party and a wonderful way to end a very busy season.  Silver and Gold Conference awards and ribbons will be available for pick up at the party.
