Practice Schedule Summer 2025

Practice will be held every Monday through Friday, weather permitting, unless otherwise indicated.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE (Tentative): First Day of Practice is Tuesday, May 27th

  • 6:45-7:45 AM Ages 13 and over
  • 7:45-8:30 AM Ages 11-12
  • 8:30-9:00 AM Ages 9-10
  • 9:00-9:30 AM Ages 8 and under

Unless otherwise directed by a coach, all swimmers should practice at the time specified by their age.  The purpose of assigned practice times is to minimize crowded lanes to optimize practice time and space and maximize coaching/instruction time for each swimmer.  If there are conflicts, parents/guardians should reach out to Allison or the parent reps to discuss before registering their swimmer.  Swimmers are required by the league to regularly attend practices to be eligible for that week’s meet. To be determined if Friday Evening Stroke Clinics will continue this season.

PRACTICE INFORMATION

  • Please make sure your child is supervised outside of their practice time. Our coaches/parent reps/lifeguards will not be expected to babysit children left unattended at the pool.
  • Arrive to the pool on time and be ready to get in the pool when your practice block begins.
  • Long hair should be tied up or under a swim cap.
  • Remember goggles, towel and warm clothes for cool morning practices.
  • Please ensure your swimmer has visited the restroom prior to practice.
  • During the first week of practice, coaches and parent reps will help direct swimmers to their lane. Swimmers will stay in the same lane for all practices during the season, unless otherwise directed to change by coaches/parent reps. Coaches will rotate between the lanes during the season.
  • Practice is held the day of meets and the day after a meet unless otherwise noted.
  • Weather cancellations:  Any weather-related practice cancellations will be communicated via text and email.Practice will be held in the rain as long as the pool is open. If the weather does not allow for practice to be held, a notification will be sent out through the team website. We will try to notify swimmers as soon as possible if practice is canceled.
  • The number of swimmers in each age group was the key factor in setting this schedule.  It keeps the numbers of swimmers balanced.  We understand that there may be conflicts, but please try to follow these times if possible.  If you have a conflict with your swimmer’s time and have not reached out to the parent reps Alexandria and Mandy yet, please do so.
Swim Team Readiness
All new swimmers will be assessed for team-readiness during the first week of practice and at the pre-season spirit meet.  To compete in a meet, swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping and/or grabbing the wall or lap lane.  We do not expect swimmers to have a perfect stroke.  These steps are taken for safety precautions, as we want to ensure a swimmer is able to meet the requirements needed for practices and meets. To join the swim team: all participants should be able to demonstrate appropriate freestyle arm movement, body position, and kicking. Using rhythmic (side to side) breathing, with face in the water.  If your swimmer is unable to meet the specific skills required by the deadline (June 9th) a full refund will be given. No refunds will be given after June 9th, unless due to an excused medical reason.
