Coach Farmer has been coaching swimming for the past 11 years. He has had the opportunity to work with all ages ranging from 9/10s up to college age athletes in the senior program at Fox. He also was the JV Gold coach for the Neuqua Valley boy’s team for 3 seasons. 

Coach Farmer started swimming at the age of 10 for the Mudrats and at age 11 started swimming for Fox. He went on to swim at Neuqua Valley. During his high school swimming career, he was a two-time state qualifier in the 100 butterfly and finished 12th his second time at state. Coach Farmer was a member of Neuqua’s 200 medley relay which finished 6th in state and was a member of the state team that finished 3rd place and 1st place overall in the state. After high school, Coach Farmer attended University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and studied health science. He continued his swimming career in college where he was a 10 time All American and helped to break 3 team relay records. He also had one top 16, two top 8, and one 4th place finish in the 100-yard butterfly at NCAA. 

Coach Farmer is an 8th grade teacher at Troy Middle School where he teaches a STEM based science class. He is the father of two children, Callum and Maeve. Coach Farmer is honored and excited to take on his role as the head coach of the Tall Grass Lightning swim team!
