Megan LaCoursiere

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Lightning swim parents to the TGL family, and recognize our returning Lightning families and thank you all for your loyalty and strong support.

The Tall Grass Lighting swim season is nearly upon us and the team along with the volunteer TGL Board have been working to ensure our kids have a safe and fun swim season.  Ahead of the 2019 season we are reaching out directly to parents of our TGL swimmers to solicit your support and encourage a few of you to become a  Naperville Swim Conference certified official as a Stroke & Turn (S&T) judge .

The S&T Judge is an integral part of a successful meet and becoming an official has a number of benefits:

1.    Location, location & location -- Best view! You are on deck and close to the action!

2.    Learn more about swimming - gain knowledge into each of the strokes your child swims

3.    The “Official family” -- work with a great group of volunteers

As is the case with many sports in Naperville, parental support and volunteerism is a critical component to running a successful program.  With that in mind, we’re looking for ten (10) new parents to take on the role of S&T judge.  We are also encouraging parents who have been with our program for a few years, or have older children at meets that don’t require supervision, to consider a role as an official with our team.Becoming an official requires an annual training session for each individual participating.  Below, you’ll find information for training registration for the coming season. The link below provides 4 different choices for training sessions in the month of May.

Supporting our efforts and leading the official team for TGL this year are:  John Ninow & Steven Weng .  Both will be onsite for our meets to facilitate and answer any questions before or during a meet from parents and coaches. Should you have any questions about becoming an official please feel to reach out to John Ninow at:  [email protected]

Thank you in advance for your support and making our season a fun and safe experience for all our kids.

Go Lightning!
