TG Lightning, Weekly Update, 7/14/19

Hi Lightning Families,

We have a VERY busy week ahead full of social events and meets, so fair warning -- this is a long email!

Calendar for this week

Monday, July 15:

  • Regular AM Practice
  • Movie Night – The Greatest Showman
    • When:  6:30pm - games and fun relays, 7:30 - snacks served, 8:00 or later (whenever it is dark enough)– movie starts
    • Where: Where else? The Tall Grass Pool! Bring your favorite floatie.
    • Serving popcorn and popsicles to the kids.  Bring your own beverages and/or other snacks.
    • This is NOT a drop off event. Parents/guardians MUST BE PRESENT and must supervise their children.
    • If you have not already paid, it is $10 per family. You must bring a  $10 Check to the Tall Grass HOA. NO CASH.

Tuesday, July 16:

  • Regular AM Practice
  • Cress Creek Country Club HOME MEET, Senior Night, and Record Board Recognition
    • Theme:  When I grow up/future job
    • Check in at 4:30. Meet starts at 5:30.

Wednesday, July 17:

  • Regular AM Practice

Thursday, July 18:

  • Regular AM Practice
  • Championship Parade and Pasta Party
    • Come at 5 to decorate your car in the Tall Grass pool parking lot – bring your own supplies -- balloons, streamers, markers (make sure they are washable!).
    • At 5:30, we will drive through the neighborhood, honking our horns and waving to the neighbors, then return to the clubhouse patio for a potluck pasta party. See the attached flyer to find out what to bring. No RSVP required.

Friday, July 19:

  • FUN Friday Practice
  • LAST practice for CLASSIC meet swimmers. (CITY meet swimmers will practice the following week on a revised practice schedule.)
  • Registration deadline for CITY MEET.

Saturday, July 20:

  • CLASSIC Championship Meet 
    • When? Afternoon Session
      • Arrive 11:30am-12noon
      • Meet starts at 1:40pm, ends approximately 5:30pm
    • Where? Neuqua Valley High School
    • See the attached notes from our Parents Meeting for all the details you need to know!

Revised Practice Schedule for City Meet swimmers July 22-26

For next week, July 22-26, City Meet swimmers will follow an adjusted practice schedule:

  • 8:00am-9:00am for 11 & ups
  • 9:00-10:00am for 10 & unders

PMI Photos

Your PMI photos have arrived! They will be in the family folder bin on Monday. We’ll have the bin out at practice by 9:30 and also again at Movie Night. If you ordered something other than prints (e.g., water bottles, mugs, plaques) that won’t fit easily in the folder, we will those have out as well on Monday to pick up. If you cannot pick them up on Monday, contact Kelley Brown at [email protected] to make other arrangements.

Year End Bash

Make sure you have your calendars marked for this! Sunday, July 28, 6-9pm, at the Tall Grass Pool. Your social committee is busy planning the year end bash and will be sending out the invite this week so be on the look-out for that!
