Hi FAST Fam,

Chalk it up to Maycember madness—we’re a day late with this update, but moving forward, you can expect your FAST Meet Update email every Wednesday before our weekend meets. Thanks for rolling with it!

Let’s dive in! We’re swimming against Briar Hill this Saturday at Foothill High School and we’ve got all the details below to help you have a smooth and successful first meet. A quick reminder: the first meet is always a little chaotic as everyone gets back into the swim of things. Please be patient, kind, and supportive—with each other and with our coaches and volunteers.

💡 Meet Keys to Success

🐬 Dolphin Time: Be on time and ready for warm-ups and races.
📣 Communicate: Can’t swim your event? Let a coach know ASAP so we can make adjustments.

🗓 Meet Schedule

7:30 AM – Pool Opens (We’re the visiting team—see map for tent placement)
7:30–7:45 AM – Swimmer Check-in (All swimmers must be checked in by 8:00 AM—no exceptions!)
8:20–8:50 AM – FAST Warm-ups
8:50 AM – Team Meeting & FAST Cheer
9:00 AM – Meet Begins

✅ Swimmer Check-In

Look for the FAST Check-in Board at the Volunteer Coordinator Tent.

  • Find your child’s name and pull their event tag(s).

  • Can’t make it by 7:55 AM? Ask a teammate to pull tags for you.

  • Still unsure? Text Dawn at 510-378-4530 if you’re running late.

If you signed up to help—thank you! Check in with Christine at the Volunteer Tent after checking in your swimmer(s). Meets don’t run without you, and we’re grateful for your time and energy!

🏅 Best Times = Sweet Rewards

Swimmers—don’t forget to ask the timers for your race time! If you earn a best time, head to the coach’s tent for a high five and a sweet treat!

📌 Team Reminders

  • No-shows hurt our team score. If you need to scratch, let us know ASAP.

  • Age Group Coordinators: please remember to hand off your swimmers and help to make certain we get the kids to proper locations and give them lane assignments so the kids can also know exactly where to go for their events..

  • Stay until your swimmer has completed all their events.

  • 10 & Unders must be escorted to their age group meeting spot 2-3 races prior to their event.

  • Warm-ups during the meet: Only allowed in the main pool during the break (between Breast and IM events).

  • No swimming in extra lanes. No pool play—before, during, or after the meet.

  • No glass on the pool deck (Foothill H.S. rules).

  • Please clean up your area before leaving. Let’s leave the deck better than we found it!
