Meets - What to Expect

     All Meets:

  • Declare your swimmer's intent to swim in Team Unify the Monday BEFORE a meet. Our lineup is sent to the other team early in the week for away meets.
  • Signup for meet volunteer jobs during the week of the meet, via website
  • You will receive a meet information email a few days before each meet.
  • Swimmers check in at announcers tent as soon as they arrive for all meets.
  • First half volunteers check in at announcers tent as soon as they arrive; second half volunteers check in at announcers tent as soon as they arrive AND at half time.
  • Bring chairs, towels, sunscreen, waters, umbrellas & money for concessions
  • Bring a sharpie to write your child's E/H/L (events/heat/lane) on their arm or leg.
    • Also, If you have a 10 & under swimmer - please write their first initial and last name across their back. This helps the parent volunteers in the Zoo know who is who….They all look the same in caps!

 

    Home Meets:​

  • Our team sets up the side closest to the buildings; we have a small deck so it will be a very "close" time.
  • Our visiting team sets up by the shallow end and along the far side of the deck, they have less space so please don't go on that side of the pool.
  • The meet sheet will be sent via email in advance of the meet and will be available for purchase during the meet. You can also access your swimmer's individual events through the website.
  • The area under the overhang and under the Serpent tent is for our swimmers to sit. This keeps them out of the sun and in one area close to the "zoo" (the area swimmers are lined up)
  • Younger swimmers can sit with their families but please be aware of the events that are lining up and get your swimmer to the clerk of course in the zoo for checkin about 3 events before they swim.
  • Meet starts at 8:00 am
  • There is a short break between halves while volunteers switch out.
  • Meet ends between 12:30 & 1:00 pm - swimmers wanting to leave once their events are completed MUST CHECK OUT with the coach BEFORE LEAVING.
  • Clean up volunteers and anyone willing to help - put the pool back in order for it to open at 2:00 pm
  • Team Rep will email the final meet results that evening. 

 

    Away Meets:

  • Swimmers arrive at the pool for warmups by 7:15 am
  • Set up is based on the email you recieved
  • Find out where the clerk of course and zoo area is - make sure your swimmer knows
  • Swimmers wanting to leave once their events are completed MUST CHECK OUT with the coach BEFORE LEAVING.

 

SWIMSUITS AND CAPS

  • All swimmers are expected to compete in our team cap and a team or navy blue suit.
  • Suits should be purchased at the time of registration for them to arrive in time for our first meet.
  • We will provide suits to try on for sizing through the swimsuit coordinator
