The Ashley Plantation Stingray’s coaches are calling all ages to come join the team and reap the major benefits of this healthy activity. According to LiveStrong.com, learning to swim at any age has many health benefits. It is also considered to be a more effective activity than most others because it also reduces the risk of water accidents and drowning, especially in small children. Kidshealth.org states that childhood obesity, juvenile diabetes and depression are all things that swimming on a regular basis can affect in a positive way.
Swimming is beneficial for the entire family. Because of the low impact on bones, joints and muscles, swimming makes a great cardiovascular and strength training activity that can be done well into late adult life. The Stingray coaches are experienced and ready to teach any swimmer at any level how to reap all of these benefits. Team fees for swimmers over the age of 19 are only $50 (plus club membership fees).
