6 and under swimmers - Check-in/mark-up through event 13/14
At each meet the swimmers are organized into age group and gender “dens”. Den parents are responsible for all swimmers in their den throughout the meet. Please sign up for den parent positions for the age group in which you have a child. Please return aprons, relay guides and sharpies to the volunteer table at the end of the meet. ARRIVE BY 4PM FOR 1ST SHIFT!
- Check in swimmers as they arrive. Notify age group rep of any swimmers who do not show up for the meet.
- “Mark up” swimmers’ arms with the event, heat and lane of their events. (See Team Unify website for examples under Parents -> Meet Day Prep tab).
- Organize swimmers and line them up by lane in the order shown on the heat sheets for relays and individual events, then deliver the groups to their lanes 2-3 events prior to their event.
- Help with any issues that arrive for the swimmers during the meet.
- 2nd SHIFT DEN PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP THE DEN AT THE END OF EACH MEET.
Age Group Representatives
The age-group representative (AGR) is a consistent resource for den parents and swimmers to ask questions and problem solve during the meeting. The AGR will hold a brief mandatory den parent meeting prior to the start of the meet.
ELECTRONIC TIMER-1 credit per shift
- Stand at the finish in each lane and depress an electronic plunger timer at the end of each race when a swimmer touches the wall to record the time for that swimmer.
- ALL 1st and 2nd half electronic timers MUST GO to the OFFICIAL TIMERS MEETING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEET.
STOPWATCH TIMER-1 credit per shift
- Stopwatch Timers stand at the finish and time each race manually with a stopwatch by starting and stopping the watch at the beginning and end of each race. Stopwatch Timers work with the Electronic Timer/Clipboard volunteer in their lane.
- ALL 1st and 2nd half stopwatch timers MUST GO to the OFFICIAL TIMERS MEETING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MEET.
ELECTRONIC TIMER/CLIPBOARD-1credit per shift
- Electronic Timer/Clipboard works with the Stopwatch Timer and stands at the finish to record the “Stopwatch Time” on a timing sheet.
LANE WORKER-1credit per shift
- Lane Workers are assigned a lane and should ensure that swimmers are lined up correctly to swim in the correct event and heat for that lane.
- Lane Workers should verify the swimmers for their lane are in place 2-3 events before they swim.
- The Den Parents will bring the swimmers to the lane, but it is the Lane Worker’s job to verify that swimmers for that lane are in the right order.
- If a swimmer is missing, the LANE WORKER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR GOING TO THE DEN TO FIND THE MISSING SWIMMER.
SHARK SUBSTITUTES-1 credit per shift
- Shark Substitutes fill in as directed by the Volunteer Coordinators.
- Shark Substitutes will be used at each meet. They may be assigned to work with any age group in any capacity.
- Shark Substitutes will assist with marking all 6 and Under and 7/8 swimmers upon arrival for check-in.
RIBBON FILER-1 credit per shift
- Ribbon Filer will file the ribbons as they are awarded and labeled, by swimmer’s last name.
HEAT WINNER RIBBON CLERK-1 credit per shift (home meets only)
- Heat Winner Ribbon Clerk watches each heat of each race and the score board to determine the winner, then hands the blue ‘Heat Winner” ribbon to that swimmer.
If at any time during a meet, you need assistance, the Volunteer Coordinators or Team Moms are available to help.
Our parent volunteers are ESSENTIAL to a successful swim meet!
Ansley Parent Credit Requirements
1 swimmer=2 credits
2 swimmers=3 credits
3 or more swimmers=4 credits
Only parents can fulfill credits.
*Nannies cannot volunteer at swim meets*
There is a $250 fine per credit not fulfilled.
General Information
Country Club swim meets consist of 60 events for age groups 6 and under through 13/14 year old swimmers. Boys and girls swim separately. Events for 6 and under swimmers include-freestyle relay, 25 freestyle and 25 back stroke. Events for swimmers 7/8 through13/14 include: freestyle relay, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and medley relay. Some swimmers 11 and older will compete in the IM-Individual Medley. Swimmers will be placed in at least two individual events per swim meets-with a maximum of three individual events-and at least one relay during the dual meet season.

1st shift den parents should be on deck by 4:00.
For 6 and Under swimmers there is one shift-events 1-14.
Timer-1 credit per ½ of meet
Lane Worker-1 credit per ½ of meet
Shark Substitute-1 credit per ½ of meet
Ribbon Filer-1 credit per ½ of meet
Heat Winner Ribbon Clerk-1 credit (home meets only) per ½ of meet
