Volunteer Awards

The CIASA Awards is an awards programme launched to recognise outstanding contribution and achievements of swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers and are given out in January during the CIASA Awards Gala.

Nominations

If you are interested in nominating someone for one of the Volunteer Awards, please email your written nomination to the Secretary. The Board of Directors will review the nominations and vote for the recipients.

The nomination should include the following details:

  • the name of the nominee and the award that they are being nominated for; and
  • in four or five lines describe why the nominee should be considered for the award in accordance with the descriptions above.

It should be noted that the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Service to the Community Award are not annual awards and that these awards will only be bestowed upon exceptional nominees.

 

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises an individual who has performed an outstanding service and accomplishment in Cayman Swimming. The recipient of this award will have volunteered time, energy, experience and enthusiasm for the benefit of our swimmers and our swimming community.

The award recipient must have:

  • demonstrated repeated outstanding achievements; and
  • made contributions of lasting impact and outstanding creativity.

Service to the Community Award

The Service to the Community Award recognises an individual who has contributed to the Swimming Community in a long lasting way.

The award recipient must have:

  • demonstrated achievements that have brought credit to Cayman Swimming;
  • demonstrated leadership and service to our community; and
  • made a significant contribution of time and talent to Cayman Swimming.

Swimming (SW) Volunteer of the Year Award

The Volunteer of the Year Award recognises an individual who has displayed outstanding contributions to the sport of competitive swimming through leadership and volunteerism.

The award recipient must have:

  • been an official, administrator or volunteer;
  • assisted with CIASA events or competitions in any capacity as a volunteer; and
  • promoted and supported the development of Cayman Swimming for at least three years.

Open Water (OW) Volunteer of the Year Award

The Open Water Volunteer of the Year Award recognises an individual who has displayed outstanding contributions to the sport of Open Water swimming through leadership and volunteerism.

The award recipient must have:

  • been an official, administrator or volunteer;
  • assisted with CIASA Open Water events or competitions in any capacity as a volunteer; and
  • promoted and supported the development of Cayman Open Water Swimming for at least three years.

The Artistic Volunteer of the Year Award recognises an individual who has displayed outstanding contributions to the sport of Artistic swimming through leadership and volunteerism.

The award recipient must have:

  • been an official, administrator or volunteer;
  • assisted with CIASA Artistic events or competitions in any capacity as a volunteer; and
  • promoted and supported the development of Cayman Artistic Swimming for at least three years.
