Dryland Week 2
We are into week two of the pool shutdown, and we hope that you are all coping and got through the dryland last week with no problems.
Exercise set
With the pools being closed we want to give all of you all a way to measure your dryland progress, and a goal to aim for! We'd like you all to complete a exercise set tomorrow (Sunday 29th). We'll repeat the test in 2 - 3 weeks depending on whether the pools reopen or not and see what your progress is!
Please do it using the photo attached to this news item - you can download this photo on to your phone and write your number of reps into the white boxes, or print and put on your wall as a reminder. If you want to share with friends or put on social media go for it, we'd love to see the results - you might even see some coaches doing it too!
- 10 min warm up
- 3 exercises as many reps as possible in the alloted time.
- Please take 2 MINS REST between the 3 exercise tests.
- 10 min warm down of stretching or foam rolling for older Performance swimmers.
Let the coaches now how you got on via the Exercise set results google form here!
A few things to remember/think about:
- Always form over speed. Make sure you do all the exercises correctly. We are starting to put some resources together as a guide to the exercises in case people don't know them. A simple Google or YouTube search will show you how to do any that you're currently unsure about.
- Parents, why not jump into the fun and do the sessions with your swimmers!
- Swimmers, share the experience, schedule a Zoom session and lead the rest of your squad so you can motivate each other to do the whole session. We may set these up with coaches at the same time as training would be next week. Stay tuned.
- Keep engaged with all your teammates, and HWI, share a photo or short video on social media and tag each other and us!
- Commit to doing all the sessions - it can be tempting to skip, and you often may feel sluggish to start if you've been inside all day. Once you get started, it's easy to get finished!
- Most of all, have fun!
