Thank you to the Mantas!

Henry Wright

Dear Mantas Parents and HWI Community,

On behalf of all of the Mantas coaches and the Wright family we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the creation and donations to the recent Coaches Hardship Fund. At a time where up to 90% of Hong Kong’s swimming teachers and coaches have become unemployed we have shown the strength of our community and team by coming together to support our coaches.

In a time of extreme instability and uncertainty, the Mantas community has shown itself as exceptionally generous and giving. This is a testament to how much more than just a swimming club the Mantas is. To quote one of the Mantas Founders Captain Wright ‘Challenges are put in our way not to stop us but to bring out our strength and courage’. Your donations have brought our Mantas families hand in hand to overcome a severe challenge faced by our coaches, and in doing so we will all move forward united, strong, and courageous.

The fund will help the benefitting coaches in a huge way, some of whom are not originally from Hong Kong and not only support themselves in one of the most expensive countries in the world, but also their families at home. The generous donations from all of you will ensure that they can pay their rent, keep themselves and their families fed, and continue to be able to coach all of our valuable swimmers!

The coaches are eternally grateful, which you can see from some thank you messages included below from the coaches who benefitted from the fund:

Working here in Hong Kong I am truly touched and overwhelmed with this great blessing. It will definitely aid my work and stay here at the same time allow my family to survive back home. Rest assured that in return I will continue to work hard with great passion, pride and joy knowing that I'm not just working for another company / client but people whom I can call family.

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of you for this financial assistance during these hard times. You are a bright light during these dark moments. Your help is greatly appreciated by me, my wife and young daughter.

Thank you so much for your generosity in these hard times. This Assistance and support mean so much for me and for my family. Words cannot express our gratitude for you enough. Your generosity and kindness will always be remembered.

Have a pleasant and blessed life to everyone, hope that you’re all well. Thank you so much this is really a big help for me at this time. I will always continue to support Mantas, HWI, and always do my best to coach. Thank you so much everyone, we can fight this crisis together with helping hands.

Thanks for the recognition to me! I would also like to say thank you to all Mantas committee and parents! This fund has really helped me and gives me a big motivation to work.

I would like to thank you for your generous mantas hardship fund.I was very happy and appreciative to be apart of it.

Thank you for your great generosity. I feel deeply honoured to work alongside a very generous community of parents, especially during this unforeseen time. Your ongoing support is deeply gratifying and I thrive to be as inspirational to our athletes in the pool.

With deepest gratitude and warmest wishes.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for providing me the Mantas hardship fund.

As times go by, this is my 10th year coaching Mantas. It is my honour and pleasure to coach the Mantas swim team,
I really appreciate your testament on my positive influence on the swimmers and the Mantas community.

I really want to say thank you to supporting me and HWI in this hard time. However we are having a hard time in Hong Kong but me and HWI all coaches will stay in our position and share our knowledge to all swimmers and parents.

We look forward to seeing all our Mantas swimmers back in the pool!

Kind Regards,

Henry Wright
