Located at the O'Fallon Family YMCA, the YOFM Sea Dragons provides a team environment for competitive swimmers from ages 5 to 21 of all abilities, from beginners to advanced.
We are accepting swimmers until November 15. Until then, evaluations are by appointment only. If interested in having your swimmer evaluated, please send an email to [email protected] to set up an evaluation date and time.
White Group (Beginners): Monday–Friday, 5:00–6:00 PM (expected to attend practice 2x a week)
Green Group (Intermediates): Monday–Friday, 6:00–7:00 PM (expected to attend practice 3x a week)
Prerequisite: Must be able to swim freestyle and backstroke for at least 100 yards. Working on techniques of all strokes as well as learning racing starts and turns.
Black/Gold Groups (Junior & Senior Advanced): Monday–Friday, 7:00–8:30 PM (expected to attend practice 4-5x a week)
Black Group Prerequisite: Must be able to swim all 4 strokes legally (free, back, breast, fly). Working on endurance, times, reaching intervals and stroke techniques.
Gold Group Prerequisite: Advanced swimmers. Training and reaching goals will be emphasized. Requires approval from the coach in order to swim in this group.
A YMCA membership is required to participate. For membership questions, please reach out to Cameron Lindsey or stop by/call the Welcome Center.
Families with swimmers under age 12 are required to have a Household Membership:
Single Adult Household (1 adult + all dependent children up to age 25): $77/month
Household (2 adults + all dependent children up to age 25): $85/month
Swimmers ages 13 and older may join with a Teen Membership, but please note:
If any other family member wishes to use YMCA facilities (e.g., pool, fitness center, etc.), the family must upgrade to a Household Membership.
Last season’s monthly dues were:
White Group: $80/month
Green Group: $95/month
Black/Gold Groups: $125/month
Youth Fitness Class (Ages 8+) – Saturdays, 8:30–9:15 AM (Performance Training Studio)
Other Group Exercise classes available to full members
Cardio/weight room access for full members
Watch from viewing window (no deck access)
Support your swimmer—this is a big commitment!
Volunteer at meets (timing, officiating, fundraising, etc.)
Join the Parent Board – New for 2025–26! (Various coordinator positions available)
Swimmers must attend minimum of 3 meets during the season
Warmup time = arrival time
Meets are longer than most youth sports events—plan ahead!
Dive Certification required to use blocks (new swimmers only) – post-Labor Day session at Kirkwood or RiverChase pool
